‘I Flunked KCSE But Look At Me” Larry Madowo Criticizes The Current Academic Set Up As He Reveals What He Got

Larry Madowo has taken time on his Daily Nation column to talk about the recently released KCSE results and their relevance today. In light of the rampant cheating and the ease with which exam papers were accessed Larry Madowo has said an A grade has lost its meaning.

According to him many of the A students would fail a campus pre-entry exam. He went on to give his own experience revealing that his grade has not helped him in any way but rather his talent. His clear disdain for the academic set up becomes more pronounced when he says;

I left high school with a B minus, the final sentence after four years of massive potential but hardly any focus. I was dead set against repeating, so I had to make the best of it and I would like to think I did.

Fully aware of my limited abilities but with a seemingly innate talent for obfuscation, I set out in search for a career where this might be useful.

He goes on to narrate how he would the go to sell his talents to a couple of board members and that he was shocked when he got employed by as he called them ‘I convinced a bunch of suits to hire me. So you see, an A is not everything.’
