Horrible: Al Shabaab Strike Again, Kill Scores Of Kenyans

At least 14 people have been killed and several others injured after suspected Al Shabaab insurgents attacked a market near Mandera town.

According to Mandera County commissioner Alex Ole Nkoyo, the attack occurred at around 2 am in Soko Mbuzi market in the North-Eastern town of Kenya.

The attackers are said to have struck while residents were fast asleep. Most of those killed were sleeping in tents outside their houses because of the hot weather that is ravaging Mandera and its environs.

The suspected insurgents are said to have planted grenades on the doorsteps before hurling petrol bombs at the tents and eventually shooting indiscriminately.

Most of those killed were quarry workers.

The attackers are said to have escaped into the nearby bushes when police arrived. Police are man-hunting the attackers according to the county commissioner.
