Here The Kenyan TV Series That Has The International World By Storm And You Can Easily Watch It On Facebook (Photos And Video)
For so long we have asked for something on our screens that we can relate to that defines and appeals to our tastes.
However, what local producers and mass media have conspired to give us is one thing that is comical at its best and mostly a dumb down of what we really face and at its worst, a laugh at our intellectual capacities to consume complex content.
However, slowly a number of crazy daring brains have been going against the grain risking it all and mostly it has paid for. Now there is a TV series all local albeit with international funding that has meets at least most of what you want.

To call TUKO MACHO a bold initiative is an understatement. We as Kenyan’s are a greatly judgmental and skeptical of any new initiative. Aside from that the producers decide to go for Social Media as the platform to showcase the series and in it tackle so many of the usual ‘taboo’ themes we as Kenyans have never agreed upon.
The general reception has been warm as awareness slowly builds but internationally the TV series is making waves getting a rare nod at the Toronto International Film Festival becoming the only African TV series aired.
The premise of the TUKO MACHO is quite interesting. An ordinary man turns vigilante to take on the rampant crime and corruption in his city of Nairobi. He gets the bad guy and the audience gets to vote whether the criminal lives or dies.It is the execution of the whole plot that is not just engaging and riveting but also very commendable.
It is realistic without being mundane and incorporates stuff any Nairobian irrespective of class and creed will identify with. I am not calling it perfect and don’t you just fall for the hype, but basically if you are going to critique this piece of art, you will do so as you would critique a proper movie or TV series. There is a lot to go but projects such as these give you hope and it can only get better.
TUKO MACHO stars Kenyan stage and screen actor Tim King’oo as Biko/Jonah – the philosophical and operational heart of the vigilante operation, Nairobi radio queen and reggae performer Njambi Koikai as Mwarabu – Biko’s moral center, and Ibrahim Muchemi as Detective Nick Salat – the hero-cop who believes the city isn’t beyond redemption.
