Hate or chide Bahati and Willy Paul for their childish antics, ‘secularized’ lifestyles and other antics they come up with, but give them their due as one of the most popular gospel acts in the country.

As a matter of fact their popularity transcends the gospel industry. It is this standing and the fact that each of them had a number of hits this year that led to many being surprised following their exclusion at the annual Groove Awards Nomination.

The ceremony which was done at KNT released names for this year’s nominees. Willy Paul attended the event while Bahati skipped it. Explanation given by the organizers for the omission of the two from the list of nominations is that their protracted public beef was unchristian and against the very values the gospel industry aimed to promote.
