Here Is How Kenyans Are Helping Collins Injera Win World Rugby #GreatestMoment Award (Photos)
Kenyan rugby player Collins Injera is already a living legend and has notable awards and records even on the international scene.
His greatest achievement however has to be holding the international record for the most tries scored in the IRB Seven Series. The achievement came in the London leg of the series and even though it ended in France defeating Kenya, there was much to celebrate as Injera became the all time top try scorer with 231 tries breaking the previous record of 230 set by Argentina’s Santiago Gomez Cora.
For that moment, Injera was nominated by World Rugby among 10 greatest moments in world rugby from which the best will be voted for by the fans. Kenyans have proved themselves equal to the challenge and are voting in droves including even politicians like former VP Kalonzo Musyoka and business luminaries like Chris Kirubi.
At the time of writing this article, Collins Injera was leading the votes having 8079 while his closest competitor was the Japanese team who beat South Africa in one of the biggest upsets with 2028 votes. This was surprising considering the other big moments World Rugby has seen.
