Here Are The Faces Behind The Ugly taxi Wars That Have Seen Uber Taxi Drivers Beaten And Their Cars Burnt

The taxi wars have cooled somewhat but nor before at one point threatening to claim lives and already seeing the loss of vehicles.

The local taxi groups were caught unawares when Uber made an entry in the country and could not believe their eyes as they lost clients to the cheaper and better services offered by the multinational Taxi group.

Their reaction was however pretty crude and saw the public turn against them. They engaged in acts of harassment and bullying and began burning Uber taxis and beating their drivers. The police decided to crack down on the menace before it became widespread and as a result six men were in court to face charges for an attack that happened in February.

The six men Julius Ngumo wa Mwangi, Stephen Mwajiri, Christopher Mutinda Nyagah, Samuel Kinyanjui, Titus Munuve and John Kiiru Chege. Here is the photo
