21st September 2013 is a day that will forever remain etched in the memories of Kenyans and all shopaholics.
This is because this day marked the beginning of a 3 day siege where 67 people perished among them Ruhila Adatia in the hands of atrocious gunmen.
The sad reality was that within days the entire mall was destroyed by the Al-Shabaab insurgents without a care or backward glance. And what was once Kenya’s biggest Shopping Malls Westgate mall was no more.

But 18th July 2015 will mark the beginning of a new era, the new and improved Westgate Mall which has thankfully been restored back to its former glory. Check it out next:
