One of the new offences many Kenyans are finding themselves dealing with is the now infamous ‘misuse of communication gadget’.

It is one of the most ambiguous charges around left to the police and courts to interpret. Somehow it has become one of the common charges around and an easy excuse to basically harass and charge people.

A poor fellow has found himself charged with the above offence for simply sending a love text to a lady he had been crushing on. Going by his language choice and delivery it will be no surprise that he hardly understands the charge against him.

The man one Harun Kongo from Githunguri had sent one Eunice Mwangi the text to declare his love to her. Unfortunately, rather than get a rebuff, he got arrested for misuse of a device he thought he was using to good effect.
