‘Government Blogger’ Dennis Itumbi’s Dad Arrested for Driving a Defective Car

So yesterday, Director, Digital, New Media and Diaspora, Dennis Itumbi otherwise known as the ‘Government Blogger’ received a call from his mum telling him that she and her dad had been arrested by the police on several grounds.

First of all, they were driving a car with worn out tyres, secondly, it lacked fire extinguisher equipment and finally the car had a crack on the break light. With all these mistakes, a traffic officer can’t let you off the hook unless you oil his hand. Accordingly, Itumbi’s old man was bundled into a waiting police lorry.

With his influential position in government, Itumbi was contemplating calling the officer in charge and ask to have his dad released but thought otherwise. Instead, he chose to send his mum cash to sort out that mess; not bribe but pay the fine and fix the car.

I know you’re wondering how the hell that concerns you. Well, Itumbi shared his personal experience in the wake of news that at least 40 Kenyans lost their lives on Narok-Maai Mahiu highway, to implore drivers and passengers to be on the look-out.

“I tell that personal story to highlight one thing it must start with each one of us… I fixed my shame; fix yours if you have one
