Gospel singer Gerriey Wainaina Makes a Comeback With Another Hit Single (Video)
Gerriey Wainaina was a Kenyan Gospel musician nominee at Groove Awards 2010 and Talanta awards USA 2010 he won Talent Mania in 2008 his win song of the year was for peace under All African Council Of Churches 2010. His music rotates in the triad of faith, hope and love giving hope to the hopeless and restoring peace to all. He has worked under Hellen Mtawali who also happens to be his mentor, with this doors opened giving him a platform to perform under Afrizo in state functions; in 2008 and 2010 he played at Mashujaa Day University joint choir, and also played at vision 2030 launch. He then formed his band labelled Kalesa Band in 2007 under African Evangelistic Enterprise helped at the Jamhuri and Mathari camps which aims to use music to heal the nation.
In 2011 together with his band he did a concert on the 7th of August at the Memorial Park in remembrance of our beloved Kenyans who lost their lives. Alongside the Kalesa Band, they were backed by Zion (a hearing impaired) choir from St. Andrews Church. Gerriey has not onlyy performed in Kenya but also in Netherlands, Malawi and Tanzania.
“In my new album to be launched I have two peace songs Amani(which won) and Mkenya song not forgetting a Christmas song featuring Mbuvi and Ian Mbugua (project fame judge). I will be performing the Mkenya song and Amani song together with Riara Groups of School Kindergarten in November in there end term concert where I work in music” Gerriey expounds.
