Sometimes in June, 62 year peasant farmer from Kisumu County was unveiled as Kenya’s new millionaire after he won a Kes 20 million Betway jackpot.

Joseph Onywera had lived in a cave of poverty for his entire life that his second wife Regina Anyango opted to ditch him for another better option.

But God didn’t abandon Joseph, his bets converted and he won Kes 20 million jackpot. News about Joseph’s big win spread like bush fire and soon his estranged wife was also aware the man he dumped was a multimillionaire.

And just like any golddigger would do, Regina walked back into Joseph’s compound in Kapiyo in the pretence that Cupid had struck her with his love arrow.

“I saw her come into my compound and I wondered. She had told me to my face that she would only return after I die. So I told her to go away since I am still alive,” Joseph told Daily Nation in a recent interview.

The onetime peasant farmer revealed his estranged wife didn’t even bother to attend the burial of his father and mother when they passed on. Joseph smelt the greed in his former sweetheart and decided to never to let her back in his life again.

“Ever since she left, several incidents have happened that would attract her attention. My mother died but she did not turn up for her burial. My father also died and I had an accident, but she did not bother to check on us,”[sic]
