“There was a time that I begged for alms from a guy and he slapped me because of how I looked. It happened in my hometown. But some few weeks ago, he called me to ask me to escort him to his dead mother’s funeral.”

The actor narrated on the latest episode of ‘The Delay Show’.

Sumsum also revealed that, he had to beg and sell “polythene bag” at a very tender age for his family to survive due to the high level of poverty at the time.

He further said that his childhood was characterized by discrimination and hatred by people. All these, he attributed to his rather bulgy eyes, a look he claims he inherited from his mother and grandmother.

“Some people respected me. Others also disrespected me. They saw me as the son of a poor person. They spoke with much disgust when sending me on an errand. There was no respect,” Sunsum lamented.

Sumsum has starred in movies alongside Emelia Brobbey, Nana Ama McBrown, Agya Akoo Lil Win, Akrobeto and Bill Asamoah.

He has featured in movies like Bosom Ba, Handsome Paddies, Good Morning, Ogya Sunsum, Abr) Ne Bayie and many more. “So many women message me on social media, they want me to be their friend, I didn’t use to get this kind of attention,” he said.

The Actor who is known for his ‘demonic roles’ in movies said, because of his looks directors only cast him for such roles.

“The thing is, the directors we have here are one-way, there are a lot of things I can do but because of my looks they only cast me for occult and demonic roles”.

Sumsum Recounts How Vivian Refused To Kiss Him On Set(VIDEO)

Kumawood actor Yaw Adu Sumsum has revealed that actresses always refuse to kiss him on set even when directed by producers to do so.

Speaking to Nana Romeo on Accra Fm, Sumsum said he doesn’t really know why the actresses put up this behaviour.

However, he added that, perhaps his ugly face and big eyes is what scares them from kissing him but it’s these same eyes that has brought him far.

“The only actress I have kissed wasn’t a star but I later had an opportunity to kiss Vivian Jill in a movie, which she needed a child and I had to sleep with her for her to conceive but she later turned me down and dodged me when I tried kissing her.

I did not ask her why she dodged me because I didn’t believe in myself either. Perhaps they think since I have big eyes, I might knock them with it which scares them away,” he said.

He later expressed his disappointment in discrimination from female actresses when it comes to kissing in movies. Sunsum who used to hide from people because of his big eyes revealed that most female actresses especially those based in Accra fail to kiss him and few of his colleagues in the kumawood movie industry but accept kisses from Majid and co.

“I watched a movie, Liwin was directed to kiss Jackie Appiah but she denied him. Assuming it was Majid, she would have kissed him passionately with no qualms.”

“The female actresses discriminate when it comes to kissing in movies, what do they take us for? Or because we speak Twi?” he asked.
