Shatta Michy, real name Michelle Diamond Gbagonah, said her new image has been inspired by her growth and maturity.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Michy had this to say about her new personality:
“I know people miss the old Michy and wonder what has happened to her. You know, that girl used to reveal flesh but today she is still sexy but covered up. The truth is I have grown up, I have matured and there are some things I will not do now”, she said.
Although the Cheating singer has taken a new direction, she has no regrets about her past image. “I have no regrets with my past at all. I believe that it helped in shaping me to become who I am today.
“In life, every lesson is important, we go through them and become better and that has been it for me.
“It is out of these happenings that made me call myself to attention and criticized my actions then I concluded I do not need this life”, she added.
Nonetheless, the mother of one has said that people are finding it difficult to accept her new image.

She told Graphic Showbiz that;
“‘Shatta Michy’, the bad girl image is engraved in their minds so much that they don’t take me serious”.
“Can you believe I shared the video of the woman who got beaten by a police officer at Midland Savings on social media and I got just a few likes?
“But for example, a picture of me half naked and doing something controversial on my page will fetch me thousands of likes.
“I even posted a picture depicting my women empowerment project and got just 5k likes and I was like,’is this really my page’ because on a regular basis, I get about 50k likes on a post,” she said.
She continued, “I think don’t Ghanaians like serious things. They prefer controversies and scandals. I want them to support me and my new brand because I really want to get the message out there, so I need help and support.
The ‘Cheating’ singer also expatiated the mission of her women empowerment initiative.
“My women empowerment project dubbed SM Women Empowerment is real and I intend pushing it to break boundaries.
“It seeks not to only render financial help to young women but also to give them the needed
encouragement to make decisions that will yield something profitable in future for them and not allow
the challenges of life to swallow them.
”I am doing this because I see how women, especially the young ones struggle through life and are lost
as to what to do although they really want to achieve something.
“The truth is that, from my experience when I was running my pub, I realised a lot of girls had no goals
and that also played a role in me taking up the new Michy.
“Women’s voices need to be heard and that is why I am interested in this project, in the hopes of
empowering women to believe in themselves and fight for what they want,” she stated.
