The ‘My Own’ hitmaker was asked if he is fighting to be relevant in the industry as the African Dancehall king following the emergence of artistes like Stonebwoy, Epixode, Jupitar and Shatta Wale, who has on countless occasions branded himself as the best on the continent.

Go listen to my African dancehall king track and you will realize it. My term in that song attracted people to claim that name upon themselves.”

“I’m not fighting with anyone over it because when you look at that genre, there were people doing way back before I came into the scene.

In our time there was Sonny Bally, Ronnie Coaches, Borax, Terry Bonchaka, the list is endless but the term African dancehall was originated by me.

“When I hear people bragging I laugh because I don’t need to make noise about that. I appreciate everything that I’ve done so far and If my fans are happy, I’m happy because I appreciate them a lot.”

Stop Self-Medication And Drug Abuse – Samini Tells Ghanaian Youths

Dancehall star, Samini has expressed great worries about the current intake of unprescribed cough mixtures and pain killers among the youth in the country.

It’s very common in our part of the world to see people taking drugs which are not prescribed by any doctor or physician. Self-medication has become a culture among people across all ages.

Though we try as much as possible to ignore this act, we cannot argue on the fact that this has claimed hundreds of lives. Those who are fortunate to escape death may either lose their memory or develop another kind of sickness.

The situation, though worrying is hardly ever talked about as many have taking it to be a ‘normal’ act. It’s however even more serious among the youths of today. Many of these use tend to use drugs like, codeine and tramol, without prescription. And the after math of taking such drugs is usually vice.

Samini indicated that drug abuse was claiming precious lives hence the need to check the act.

According to the ‘My Girl’ crooner, government needs to do more to eradicate such abuses. Adding that even though there have been several documentaries and educative programs to lead kids and the youth away from drugs.

“That’s a crazy thing happening right now among the youth. We have been hearing this since we were kids. This is like a clear picture. It was like a myth but now we are seeing kids buy and mix things up…” he told Andy Dosty.

“I know people who looked healthy but now look older due to the effect of the drugs. Before they could come close but they can’t anymore…”

He cautioned the youth to desist from self medication and drug abuse.

“Don’t drink or take drugs when you know very well you are not sick. It has no benefits to your health…” he advised the youth.

Samini was speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM.

Samini Challenges Shatta Wale To A One-On-One Battle

Shatta Wale, not long ago dared his nemesis and record mate Stonebowy to step up for a one-on-battle to prove who’s the best in the dancehall genre in Ghana.

It however seems Stonebowy is not ready to step up for the challenge as he’s yet to response to the dare.

But Samini, born Emmanuel Andrews Samini is rather grabbing the opportunity to ‘battle’ it out with the self-acclaimed dancehall King.

Samini, speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Monday said he was ready to “catch Shatta Wale one-on-one, four bars to four bars…” to prove who is king lyrically.

According to the ‘My Own’ hitmaker, he believes that Shatta knows when it comes to freestyle rap, he [Samini] was second to none.

Samini insisted: “he can’t stand me when it’s freestyle. He knows; he knows. I know he is a freestyle artiste too and I can’t disrespect for that fact but he knows I am bad when it comes to that…”

Stressing on the lyrical battle, the HighGrade Family Movement boss urged the Zylofon signed artiste to ready a huge capital should he dare to accept the battle.

“He [Shatta Wale] needs big money and investment so we showcase the thing once and for all to Ghana and the world so everyone knows he just talks. He can’t go on any platform without mentioning me. If you say someone sabotages you, you need to prove that…” Samini told Andy Dosty.

Shatta Wale on the other hand is yet to respond to Samini’s challenge.
