Be sociable – Salinko Appeals To Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom

Actor Abraham K. Davies, better known as Salinko has a piece of advise for the founder of the Progressive People’s Party, PPP, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom.

The actor has noted that founder of the Progressive People’s Party, PPP, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom does not attend social functions and mingle with the grassroots.

The Kumawood actor had earlier sought to enter parliament on the ticket of the Progressive People’s Party, PPP, during the December 2016 general election.

Salinko further opined that, Mr Nduom is a fine gentleman with excellent policies to help propel Ghana to greater heights, but he rarely shares his views publicly or even attend functions.

According to him, the seasoned politician is imbued with lots of experiences he can enrich the nation with if he pushes forth his ideologies on matters affecting the country.

He thus appealed to Mr Nduom to fraternize with the grassroots to present his good thoughts and policies to them.

Salino observed that the agenda of Papa Kwesi Nduom’s party is solid but the masses will only get to appreciate it when they encounter their leader.

“I want to appeal to Mr Nduom to open up to the masses, especially to the grassroots. It’s amazing what he wants to do for Ghana through his party, PPP. But he can only realize these when he makes himself available to communities across the country,” he said on UTV’s McBrown’s Kitchen.

He thus urged the politician cum business mogul to embrace local communities and familiarize with them as they may want to experience a new Ghana under his leadership come 2020.

Telenovelas Are Not A Reason For The Collapse Of Ghana Movie Industry – Salinko

Kumawood Actor Abraham Kofi Davies, popularly known as Salinko has rubbished claims that showing of telenovelas on local television channels has led to the decline in patronage of the local movie industry.

According to him the real issues that have contributed to the decline in popularity of local movie industry include lack of innovation, backbiting in the industry, neglect of veteran actors among others.

Contributing to the debate on the declining fortunes of ‘made in Ghana’ movies on UTV’s McBrown’s Kitchen, he rejected claims that countless telenovelas showing on different TV stations have caused the crisis in the industry.

“Telenovela’s can never collapse the local movie industry. The fundamental issue here is that, times are changing, and the industry must change to catch up. Directors must begin to explore more creative ways of presenting their works to the public. With regard to distribution, movies used to be sold on cassettes, before CDs and DVD’s were introduced, now the fun is all happening on the internet. That is where we must be heading to after fine-tuning our movies,” he explained.

Salinko also added that one key reason why the industry has taken a nosedive is because of backbiting in the industry.

“We need a united industry, if we want to go far. The trend of turning down an offer to star in a movie because person A or person B is on board is killing the industry. Let’s unite and reinvent ourselves and we can bounce back,” he said
