I’ve Won My Fight Against Depression – Pappy Kojo

Fante rapper Pappy Kojo has said he has been battling depression for sometime now and he has come out a victor.

The rapper who has been off the music scene for a while now.

But according to him, his absence had been due to the fact that he had to battle depression.

He made this revelation in a chat with Berla Mundi on the Starr Drive Wednesday.

“I’m happy, I’m good now. I didn’t know how else I was gonna learn and grow. Right now it’s like I know what I’m doing. I’m aware of what I’m doing,” he said.

The ‘Ay3 Late’ rapper  however added that his depression had nothing to do with awards.

“That year was just full of darkness. One, the awards thing, two, me and Joey [Joey B] weren’t cool that year. There were things that happened to me for the first time.”

“I felt like I just wasn’t ready, I just didn’t know how it worked. I just came to Ghana and the only thing I knew was Joey. I didn’t know anyone before this music thing,” he said.

The ‘fante vandam’ said that seeing a therapist for about 3 months helped to an extent, but

did not work for him, so he had to devise another means to overcome the state he was in.

He detailed “I had to work on myself. I stopped recording, I wasn’t doing anything at all. I felt like I didn’t want to do music anymore. Guilty [Guilty Beats] kept me going.”

Clearing the air on his feud with long-time friend and fellow musician Joey B, he said;

“Joey is like my brother, and brothers do fight. But that year happened to be our first major fight. Me and joey fight every time. Now I know what Joey likes and doesn’t and vice versa.”

Pappy Kojo is currently promoting his new single ‘balance’ which features Joey B,

and expects to release an EP later in the year.

I Am A Legend – Pappy Kojo

Ghanaian Hip Hop/ Hiplife artiste, born Jason Gaisie popularly known as Pappy Kojo, has

declared that he is a legend.

The ‘Fante Van Damme’ made this claim in an interview with Doctar Cann, host of the number one entertainment talk show in Ghana, ‘ShowbizXtra’ on Happy 98.9 FM.

“I am a legend and I feel I am because I feel that way. I feel I have gotten there,” he said.

I’ve Never Dated Any Ghanaian Celebrity – Pappy Kojo

Ghanaian Hip-hop star, Pappy Kojo has finally cleared the air on his alleged dating with some

top Ghanaian celebrities.

The “Awoa” rapper is rumored to have once dated some Ghanaian celebrities including

Yvonne Nelson and Sister Deborah in the past.

According to him however, the rumors have no facts at all because he has never dated

any Ghanaian woman including those in the showbiz industry.

He told Dr Poundz on Hitz FM that womanizing was never part of him when he was

underground.

“Before I became Pappy Kojo, I was never a playboy,” he revealed adding that: “I’ve never dated any Ghanaian woman including those in the showbiz industry.”

He further added that he only dates women outside the country.

My Girlfriend Allows Me To ‘Chop’ Other Girls Sometimes – Pappy Kojo

Fante Rapper, Pappy Kojo has disclosed that his girlfriend allows him to try other ladies anytime he’s fed up with her.

According to him, he easily gets fed up with people which is something his girlfriend is aware of.

Hence, he added that anytime she comes to that realization, she gives him space to try other ladies.

Pappy Kojo who is reported to have dated his girlfriend for five years now.

He disclosed this when he was interviewed by Deloris Frimpong Manso on the “Delay Show”.

“I easily get fed up with people and my girlfriend is here and she knows that so anytime she realizes that she gives me space”.

Pappy Kojo indicated that since he is twenty-seven years old, he enjoys his life because he is

young and has all that there is to enjoy a good life.

 

I Smoked A Lot Because Of Depression – Pappy Kojo

Hip-hop and hiplife artiste, Jason Gaisie, popularly known as Pappy Kojo, has revealed depression took a great toll on his life.

Speaking in an interview with Delay on the ‘Delay Show’, the ‘Realer No’ hitmaker disclosed that he smoked a lot because he was depressed.

Though he used to smoke a lot, Pappy said he never got addicted to it.

He also added that he has now quit smoking.

According to him, depression is normal because everybody goes through
it at a point in one’s life.

Pappy further stated that life is okay for him even if he is not doing music actively.

The Takoradi indigene revealed that he is currently working on an

EP and at the same time shooting music videos as well.

2016 VGMA Trolls Got Me Depressed – Pappy Kojo

Rapper, Pappy Kojo has disclosed that he was really depressed after he was highly trolled after the 2016 VGMAs.

The ‘Akwaaba’ rapper was trolled for not winning a single out of the numerous nominations he earned.

Many social media users therefore trolled him over this and Pappy says their trolls took a turn on him.

Pappy  who was speaking in an interview on the Delay Show said his silence after releasing just

a few songs was not because he came to the music scene for his “National Service” like social

media users have been saying.

According to him, he was depressed and needed time off for himself to get well before he could come out.

The “Realer No” hitmaker mentioned that people expect artistes in Ghana to be great but there

are no such structures to make them great and that has been a bane for artistes in Ghana.

They Say My Rap Is Wack; But I Use It To Chop Girls’ Tonga For Free – Pappy Kojo Replies Critics

Ghanaian Rapper, Pappy Kojo, has said some words for his critics when it comes to his rap skills.

According to him, people say his raps are wack, yet he gets to sleep with ladies for free because of this same raps.

The ‘Ay3 Late’ crooner has often been chastised by a few people for his weak rap flow.

But to him, it’s this same description that has made him the toast of women.

Pappy Kojo took to Twitter to remind his critics of this by tweeting;

“Y3si Pappy rapi nonfa, still midi tu girl no tonga”

This literally means, “they say my rap is wack but I use the same rap to get into the pants of ladies”.

Meanwhile, it seems Pappy has just confirmed the numerous stories of artistes using their fame to lure ladies to warm their beds.

These artiste are said to just use different ladies just because of their status and influence.

Pappy Kojo’s Former Manager Chooses Joey B Over Him, Read Why

Celebrity blogger, Ameyaw Kissih Debrah has revealed that he will choose Joey B over Pappy  due to his versatility.

According to the former manager of Pappa Kojo, the artiste’s core fans are mostly students of the high school level – J.H.S and S.H.S.

Ameyaw Debrah, who managed the musician during his heydays made this revelation when he appeared on The Celebrity Ride with Zionfelix’.

During the show, he was asked to choose who his best is between Joey B and Pappy Kojo on the ‘Who Is Who?’ segment.

The boss of Ameyaw Debrah Media then picked the latter over the former.

In explaining his reason, he said Joey B aside his rap prowess can also sing. However his former artiste cannot do same even though he has tried it a couple of times.

Reacting to comments that the ‘M’akoma’ hitmaker’s career has taken a swoop, Ameyaw Debrah said otherwise.

He expressed that the High School  students who are the musician’s core fans still see him as their superstar.

He further said even though he is struggling to get another hit song, most Ghanaians still enjoy his old tunes.

According to him, he used to fight a lot with Pappy Kojo because he was refusing to reason with him.

The newly wedded on why they used to argue disclosed that; “Pappy was always on keeping an image rather than doing things that will put him in the face of the people.”

He added that the rapper refused on several occasions to collaborate with up and coming musicians because he felt bigger than them.

The celebrity and lifestyle blogger continued that he advised him on several occasions to work with young artistes. However, Pappy was adamant to his words and that generated a lot of arguments for them.

He explained that this became unbearable for him so he had to pass over the ‘Realer No’ hitmaker to his junior brother, Paa Debrah to continue the managerial duties.

He however said that he didn’t do so just because of the arguments but because he was busy with his online business. As a result, he felt the the ‘Ay3 Late’ crooner needed someone who could work with him as a full time manager.

Pappy Kojo, born Jason Gaisie is a Ghanaian hip hop and hiplife recording artist from Takoradi. He’s quiet famous in Ghana thanks to  thanks to Joey B who asked him to come down to pursue his music career. He was formerly based in Italy.

Obrafour Has Been Ignoring Me-Pappy Kojo

Jason Gaisie,best known in the entertainment industry as Pappy Kojo has expressed his anger with  Ace Musician Obrafour  for ignoring his calls and messages. The Fante rapper who said he adores the ‘Pae Mu Ka’ composer who is also his source of inspiration when it comes to music  has stressed on his disappointment  at Obrafour’s attitude towards him.

Speaking in an  interview on Joy FM’s Cosmopolitan Mix with Doreen Andoh, Pappy Kojo mentioned that he was supposed to have performed with Obrafour at the 2016 edition of the Ghana Music Awards but he failed to show up that night. “I am a little bit upset with Obrafour [but] I have kept quiet for so long but I have to say it,” the rapper said.

He further stated that “Obrafour has been ignoring me for a while, he doesn’t pick my calls, he doesn’t reply my text messages, [and] I don’t understand why Obrafour is doing that. I want to understand what is going on, because you are like [an idol] to me, you are the reason why I am doing what I am doing”

According to him, “Last year I performed at Ghana Music Awards and I wanted to surprise the people with Obrafour so we spoke about it, he agreed and he didn’t show up. I called him and he didn’t pick, I really don’t understand what is going on.” “You can’t just influence me and then when I fall in love with you, you just leave me alone, it doesn’t work,” he added.

When asked about his rumored affectionate relationship with actress Yvonne Nelson, the ‘Realer No’ hitmaker debunked such claims, stressing that he dated another lady by the name Yvonne Melson and not the actress, Yvonne Nelson . “I dated Yvonne Melson, I didn’t date Yvonne Nelson, the Yvonne I dated is called Yvonne Melson, she lives in Takoradi and has never stepped foot in Accra,” he cleared the air after a listener threw  the question at him.

Popular Ghanaian Fante rapper, Jason Gaisie widely known as Pappy Kojo has disclosed that his amorous relationship with one Yvonne Nelson sadly ended after six months.

According to the rapper, his longtime girlfriend is not actress, Yvonne Nelson as widely speculated.
Speaking in an interview on Neat FM, the Takoradi-based hip hop artiste revealed that the Yvonne Nelson he once dated is not popular and doesn’t reside in Accra.
Pappy Kojo has been rumored to be in a ‘tight’ relationship with actress and producer, Yvonne Nelson but he has since debunked the claims on countless occasions.

“Yes I once dated a lady called Yvonne Nelson in Takoradi for six months… Let me state this clearly that the Yvonne Nelson I dated isn’t the popular actress”, Pappy Kojo said.
The singer insisted that though he knows much about actress Yvonne Nelson, he is only a big fan and loves to watch her movies just like any other person.
