You Can Call Me A Tomboy But Not A Lesbian – MTN hitmaker  O.V

Okailey Verse, popularly known as O.V has rubbished rumors of her being a lesbian.

According to her, she is a tomboy who rolls with female friends who are equally not lesbians.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Wednesday, OV explained that she learned the tomboy lifestyle from her late brother who kicked the bucket prior to the climax of the 2018 MTN Hitmaker show.

“People criticize my looks. They say I am a lesbian, tomboy or someway but I know I am a tomboy. I’m not trying to look like it. I was very close to my late brother and he taught me everything. He taught me how to fold shirts and all that.

“Lesbians don’t contact me. I don’t deal with them and I don’t consider becoming one. I have friends who are girls and I have a boyfriend,” she told Andy Dosty.

OV says she loves to be a tomboy and wouldn’t allow criticisms to get to her because “people learn to accept new things,” she explained.

O.V is the winner of MTN Hitmaker Season 7 and a soon-to-be-Bhim Nation artiste.

I’m A Novice In Music – Hitmaker’s OV

MTN Hitmaker Season 7 winner OV, has revealed that she came into the competition knowing nothing about music.

According to her, the competition was a perfect platform for any underground artist because

it exposes one to different things.

“It’s a very big platform… I didn’t want to come for hitmaker but when I came, I saw that I did not know anything… so I had to learn.” she said in an interview on Accra-based Hitz FM.

OV, who is also known as Okailey Verse, also acknowledged the fact that, the competition

was tight and that every contestant was a challenge to her.

“In my first performance, I lost my voice and it was terrible. I thought I was going home the next week… I saw everybody as competition,“she said.

The new “ruler of the mic” said she hoped to feature dancehall artiste, Stonebowy on her upcoming song.

OV became the second female to win MTN Hitmaker competition after Freda Rhymes.

She beat three other contestants (Awal Mohammed, Amakye and Erza Tamaa).
