I Sometimes Feel Sorry For Some Ghanaian Politicians – Lydia Forson

Awards-winning Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson says she sometimes feel sorry for some Ghanaian politicians.

According to her, getting into politics on her part will be a difficult move. This she attributed to the fact that she is unable to remain silent over outrageous issues facing the country.

The outspoken actress was discussing issues concerning the attitude of politicians on the Celebrity Fanzone show. According to her, she feels sad for some politicians in Ghana. This she explained is because, the system is set up in such a way that even those who enter with change on their minds become engulfed by the system.

Adding that in case she decides to try, she might be shot dead by a hater in her own political party. And it will be simply because she will stand out for what needs to be done right.

Miss Lydia Speaks;

“If we’re going to be clean, the presidency has to be cleaned all the way down. So what we do need is leaders who are bold enough. It’s sometimes hard because I feel sorry for some politicians. Some politicians go in with really good intentions but as soon as they get in there…That’s why I can’t be a politicain because they could have probably shot me in my party.” Lydia Forson said on GHOne TV’s Celebrity Fanzone.

Pretending Gays Don’t Exist Doesn’t Change The Fact That They Do – Lydia Forson

Outspoken actress Lydia Forson has shared her thoughts on the trending issue of the President’s answer to homosexuality in Ghana.

The actress in a blog post on Monday, 27 November explained that the President did not err in his submission on Ghana’s position on legalizing homosexuality.

In the post captioned “The President on Homosexuality; he said what he said”, she explained that our outrage isn’t going to change the fact that some people closer to us may be Gays and therefore it is about time we faced reality and believed that homosexuals truly exist.

According to Lydia Forson, the President wasn’t voted into power to enforce his own personal beliefs on his citizens. Instead, he was voted to represent all citizens irrespective of their beliefs and practices.

Adding that, President Akufo Addo’s answer to the question is an intellectual response which is devoid of emotions. This, she explained is due to the fact that there are laws that protect all citizens irrespective of their beliefs and practices.

Lydia Forson Writes

“History should teach us all that every minority or group of people that feel oppressed, restricted etc will someday find their voice, strength and the balls to demand equal treatment.

That’s just the way it is!

Jews.

Women.

Black people.

Interracial couples.

The president didn’t condone homosexuality, he simply stated the FACT that at some point we’ll be forced to have this conversation, whether we want to or not; and it may not even be any time soon or even in our life time.

But we have to reach the mental capacity needed to have these debates.

Which is why I don’t think it’s fair to constantly pressurize African leaders to taking a stand on this.”

She further added that; where Ghana is now as a developing country, all developed countries have been there before. ” We shouldn’t be forced to run when we’re just learning how to WALK.

With that being said, your outrage isn’t going to change the fact that your friend, doctor, pastor (yep them too) lawyer etc is GAY.”

She concluded by writing that;

“So the president’s response is what anyone who understands history, law and the realities of the world we live in today, would say.

Pretending they don’t exist doesn’t change the FACT that they do”

Sexual Harassment In The Movie Industry Is Real – Lydia Forson

Award-winning actress, Lydia Forson has spoken about the sexual advances and power play that goes on behind the scenes in  the movie industry. She spoke about how as a young and upcoming actress, she was once accosted by a producer. She said the producer demanded to see her breasts during an audition in order to get a role.

She made these statements during an interview on BBC. She said, “Earlier in my career just once, small-time producer who asked to see my breast for a role I was auditioning for and I said no, and walked out.”

Forson’s views were sought in the wake of the sexual scandal involving Harvey Weinstein, heavyweight Hollywood producer. He faces accusations from an increasing number of actresses, younger associates and interns.

Lydia Forson said she stormed out when the producer made that demand on her body. She continued by saying that sexual harassments are common in other professions; and many women face unrequited sexual advances from men in powerful positions.

She stated, “It’s unfortunate that it’s very common but it cuts across everywhere. Women are subjected to unwanted sexual advances from men in powerful positions especially who want to take advantage of their vulnerability. Especially in Africa where there’s a lot of poverty and people are looking for jobs, they know how to feed on peoples desperation.”

Additionally, she spoke about an experience a young lady shared with her about harassment.

“Just last week, an actress walked up to me and said she’s been trying to break up into the industry for several years but every producer wants to sleep with her and they named dropped some big actresses that they slept with before giving them roles. They threaten them, blackball them in the industry if they refuse to cooperate.”

She ended by saying that the abuse in the industry has to end. However, the people who speak up about the abuse are the ones with the means to stop them.

“There are killers among us. Beware” Lydia Forson

Actress Lydia Forson took to her social media(twitter handle) a few minutes ago to caution her funs and the public as a whole. Her comment “There are killers among us. Beware” follows an article she wrote on twitter a few minutes ago concerning issues relating to Afia Schwarzenegger’s leak sex tape, where the beautiful actress seems to be sympathizing with Afia. So many videos and pictures have been trending all over social media for some days now and one of such videos is one in which Afia Schwarzenegger’s husband was threatening to pour acid on his wife after catching her in bed with another man.

So far, many have come out to criticize Afia’s infidelity but no one has been heard sympathizing with her. In her article Miss Forson is asking if we’re all just going to ignore the fact that the man had threatened to pour acid on Afia and burn her house as well, and for the fact that he even went as far as leaking nude pictures and videos of the incident which is an illegal act in itself
She concluded by advising that ” if you’re not happy in any relationship, man or woman, just leave”.
