The musician said, “nobody has actually criticized my songs…it’s always about my weight.”

While he sees those comments as feedback, the ‘Betweener’ singer noted it is sometimes unfortunate that people rather tend to insult him when making comments about his weight.

Nevertheless, he said criticisms are part of celebrity life. “You are a public figure [so] you can’t run away from these things…our lives are not private to anyone.”

“If you are telling me to lose weight…it’s not like you are killing me…it’s the way and manner you say it,” he said.

He observed that the kind of work he does, “people can come at you at any time.”

I Invested At Menzgold – Kumi Guitar

Highlife musician, Kumi Guitar has revealed he is a client of gold dealership company,

Menzgold Ghana Limited.

Menzgold is a sister company of Zylofon Music, a record label Kumi is signed onto.

The Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) ordered the company to halt its

operations about two months ago.

According to SEC, the company did not have the requisite license to deal in the purchase

and deposit of gold collectibles from the public and issue contracts with guaranteed

returns with clients.

The investments of the customers have since been locked up following the suspension

of the company’s gold vault market services since Thursday, September 13, 2018.

Most of the artistes signed onto Zylofon music have since come out to urge clients of

the Gold firm not to worry about their investments because they are still intact.

Kumi Guitar speaking on the issue said, just like the over a million frustrated clients

of the company whose funds are locked up, he wished the company commenced

its operations so all clients could get their dividends from investing in the company.

Kumi Guitar made this known during an interview with Agyemang Prempeh, host

of Power Entertainment on Power 97.9 FM on Saturday,

“I have invested there…I wish this storm is over so the business continues,”  he admitted.

Nonetheless, the ‘Betweener’ hitmaker would not disclose the amount he invested in his boss’ company.

Kumi Guitar has over the years endeared himself to Ghanaians both home and in the

diaspora with his creativity that comes to play in his songs.

Nana Yaw Kumi is his name outside showbiz and is the composer of the popular

‘Break into two’ track.

He is also credited with other songs like ‘Kokonsa’, ‘Brown Sugar’, ‘Problems’, and

‘victims’ which he dedicated to the victims of the Atomic gas explosion in 2017.

Kumi Guitar is expected to release his debut album in December this year which has

a song he did with his label mate and dancehall act, Shatta Wale.

I Pioneered Zylofon Music With Nana Appiah Mensah- Kumi Guitar

High Life musician, Kumi Guitar has said he started Zylofon Music with his boss, Nana Appiah Mensah.

According to Kumi Guitar, CEO of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah was his classmate at Adisadel College although they were not that close pals then.

Kumi made this revelation when he took his turn on the ‘Delay Show’.

“I won’t say we were that kind of friends who’ll break bread together but we were very cool.”

The ‘Betweener’ crooner recounted, how he had a call from Nana Appiah two months after leaving Slip Music which belongs to Mark Okraku Mantey.

According to him, Nana Appiah called him over to his office and that was when their bound rejuvenated.

He further stated they had lost each other’s contacts for a very long time. But Nana Appiah, being well aware of his singing dexterity at school was not skeptical about investing in him.

“I was the first artiste he signed on Zylofon Music before bringing on board other artiste to form a formidable music label. NANA Appiah knows I have a keen interest in music. I was best known for dancing and singing in high school so he had every reason to put me on.”

According to Kumi, he also considered what benefits or advantages Nana Appiah could give him before taking his offer into consideration. And he would say that, signing onto the Entrepreneur’s label was not a bad idea at all.

He also added that, Nana Appiah is very much aware of what he is doing so the public should not think he is just ‘throwing’ his money away.

“Nana Appiah is doing very well. He has invested in us and we’ll repay him when the time is due. But as at now, he is just sowing, knowing very well that he’d ripe very soon.” He said.

More importantly, he revealed that there’s no feud or whatsoever between him and Stonebwoy. And same goes with  the remaining signed artistes under Zylofon Music.

Try And Get Just One Hit Song Before You Earn My Attention – Ennwai To Kumi Guitar

Perhaps, Kumi Guitar should have just sat at his ‘one corner’ in the course of the Zylofon/Stonebwoy feud.

He has received a lot of backlashes following the recent ‘beef’ between these two parties.

It got worst for him when he released the song ‘Gyae’, which many believe was a ‘diss’ at Stonebwoy.

Ghanaians have taken the ‘Betweener’ singer to the cleaners and back.

However, it seems Kumi also stepped on another wrong toe of an artiste. Believe me when I say he also did not spare him at all.

Ghaflagh.com has come across a post on Facebook, addressed to Kumi Guitar. The post is however from hiplife artiste Ennwai.

Ennwai in his post challenged the first Zylofon signed artiste to work hard and get at least one hit song. Adding that that’s the only way he could earn his attention.

Ennwai’s attack follows an indirect attack by the Highlife musician, through his former partner Paa Kwasi on Facebook. Together they formed the group Dobble.

Kumi Guitar’s post below;

The ‘Christy’ crooner rebutted, mocking Kumi Guitar. He claimed Kumi was signed by Zylofon only because he was a schoolmate of the company’s Chief Executive.

Ghanaians ‘Butcher’ Kumi Guitar Over Stonebwoy Diss Track

Ghanaians have jeered at Zylofon Media signed artiste, Kumi Guitar for dissing dancehall icon Stonebwoy in latest track.

Kumi Guitar has not been spared on social media after he released his track dubbed ‘Gyae’

After releasing the song, Kumi Guitar took to social media to wish fans a happy new week. Little did he know his post was going to earn him lots of backlashes an the the fury of a section of the public.

His release follows the recent misunderstanding between Stonebwoy and Zylofon Media.

Earlier, He had granted an interview on www.ghanaweb.com where he did not mince words at describing his record mate, Stonebwoy as ungratefu, selfish and greedy.

According to him, the current posture of Stonebwoy is a threat to the progress of Zylofon Media and to him as well. Adding that, Stonebwoy  was already Stonebwoy before the label signed him alright. Nevertheless, he cannot say Zylofon Media has not done anything for him since he was signed onto the music label.

“We have to learn to give back to people who are helping us. Stonebwoy can never say Zylofon media has done nothing for him. It was Zylofon Media that paid for all Stonebwoy’s expenses including his trips, recordings and his two major concerts which were held in Ashaiman and the National Theatre,” he said.

Many Ghanaians have however not taken kindly to his song at all. For this reason, they ‘roasted’ him when he took to Instagram and made this post;

Let’s be thankful for what we got! Happy New week fam! Don’t forget the #BetweenerChallenge is still on! Keep your videos coming. Thank you all for the love and support ??. #KumiGuitar #Betweener #ZylofonMusic? #5Star

Stonebwoy Was Given A Week To Stay Or Leave Zylofon – Kumi Guitar Reveals

Zylofon Media’s first signed artiste, Kumi Guitar has revealed that dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy was given a week ultimatum to decide whether he still wants to work with the label or not.

The ultimatum, he said, was given to the Bhim Nation President in a meeting with the management of the media outfit about a week ago.

Kumi Guitar who said he didn’t want to talk about the controversies between his label and label mate said he had decided to spill the beans after the nasty turn of events at Legon Campus over the weekend.

“What really pushed me to start talking now is last Saturday, Legon had a show in collaboration with Zylofon and we were all billed to perform. We were there and were parked for a long while and a fan called me that they are pulling down all the banners we’ve used to brand the place in Zylofon’s name…so he was asking if the show is closed because he’s not seen us perform…” Kumi told Myjoyonline.com in an interview.

The ‘Betweener’ crooner said he couldn’t understand why Stonebwoy had to ask organizers to get rid off anything that had Zylofon printed on it.

Kumi, who wondered why Stonebwoy didn’t allow them perform quizzed whether an artiste having an issue with his label means he also has an issue with his label mates. “…if you have an issue with Zylofon, do you have an issue with me? No, do you have an issue with Obinini? No, do you have an issue with Joyce Blessing?”

The man who believes he influenced the establishment of Zylofon Media declined to comment on the nasty incident at the Champs Bar. He was however worried that if things continue the way they are now, Stonebwoy might succeed in pulling down Zylofon Media. Adding that, the downfall of Zylofon Media means his downfall as well.

“If these things keep happening and he [Stonebwoy] succeeds or people don’t get the picture right, he might succeed in pulling down Zylofon and if Zylofon is down, I am down,” the man who believes he influenced the establishment of Zylofon Media said.

He added noted that where there’s a contract issues must be resolved amicably. But if one party fails to fulfill their end of the contract, then the other party has to point it out.

Kumi  further disclosed that, Zylofon Media paid all Stonebwoy’s expenses including his trips, recordings and his two major concerts – one at Ashaiman and the other at the National Theatre.

According to Kumi Guitar, Zylofon Media paid all Stonebwoy’s expenses including his trips, recordings and his two major concerts – one at Ashaiman and the other at the National Theatre.

According to Kumi Guitar, Stonebwoy is pissed off because his arch rival was signed onto the same label with him.

“What I heard was that you got angry because Shatta [Wale] was signed… if you won’t give him what he wants, automatically he [Nana Appiah Mensah – Zylofon Media CEO] will fail to give you what you want or better still, he will go look for somebody who can do the job for him if you cannot do it,” he said.

Kumi again disclosed that Zylofon Media paid all of Stonebwoy’s expenses. This he said includes; his trips, recordings and his two major concerts – one at Ashaiman and the other at the National Theatre. He however believes that the Zylofon Media CEO did nothing wrong by signing Shatta since Stonebwoy is not a shareholder of Zylofon.

Read More;

“He can bring the argument that maybe in his contract, they wrote that he is the one representing Dancehall so they shouldn’t bring somebody else. If you are representing Dancehall, it’s not just about representing but you also have to represent Zylofon. You are an ambassador representing Zylofon, how many times are you hashtagging Zylofon?…this is where our boss also has a problem and he has told you several times, you’ve gone for meetings?”

He admitted that Stonebwoy had made a name for himself before he was signed onto the label alright. But queried whether he can say that Zylofon Media has not contributed anything to his career since he was signed onto the label

“I’m starting to talk because I began this thing. Our boss wouldn’t have been in this industry. I was the one who spoke to him to do it and I wasn’t selfish. I told him to add people on board and then you [Stonebwoy] also are a beneficiary…yes he was Stonebwoy before we met him but can he say that Zylofon has added nothing to him?

You’ve been spoken to and then you’ve been given the opportunity to decide if you still want to be part of us as family…if you want to go also, you decide. For a week now you’ve not responded only for you to do this. Is it that you want to frustrate the investor or you want to frustrate Zylofon,” he questioned.

Kumi Guitar Slams Pastor For Tagging CEO Of Zylofon Media As Occultist

Zylofon Music Signed artiste, Kumi Guitar has lashed out at Osofo Kyiri Abosom for saying the CEO of the firm is occultist.

Osofo Kyiri Abosom, real name Christian Kwabena Andrews is the General Overseer of Life Assembly Worship Center.

The controversial prophet said on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, the young CEO acquired his wealth through blood sacrifices.

He also claimed that, all the musicians who have signed onto Zylofon Music, have sold their souls to the devil. According to him,the CEO is an occult and his wealth is not genuine but evil money meant to enslave people.

He indicated further that, all the musicians who have been signed onto the label are also going to be used to win more souls for the devil.

But reacting to claims by the prophet, Kumi Guitar, slammed the prophet, testifying to the great transformation the label has made on his life.

According to Guitar, his life has transformed significantly after joining Zylofon music.

‘’formerly I could not take care of my child nor pay for the medical bills but since I signed onto Zylofon Music, I have seen significant transformation in his life”, he said.

Kumi Guitar added, “Someone has decided to help the creative arts industry grow and you are making claims that he is an occult?”

He couldn’t fathom why the man of God failed to approach Nana Appiah Mensah on his so-called prophecy.

He further described the pastor as a fake prophet who is capitalizing on the popularity and success of the CEO to make himself relevant.

Kumi Guitar is among the six artistes the company has signed onto its record label so far. The number will however reduce to five if it’s really true that dancehall act, Stonebwoy has left the organization.
