Kenkey Fest 2019 Set For March 9 At Mantse Agbonaa

This year’s edition of Kenkey Fest, the official yearly party for all kenkey lovers, is slated for Saturday, 9th March 2019 at Mantse Agbonaa, Jamestown-Accra.

This year’s edition which happens to be its fourth is in partnership with Atinka Media Village,

Raba Rides, and Gigi.

Kenkey Fest brings together a variety of kenkey delicacies in the country. Kenkey is a Ghanaian

meal made from corn.

The exciting event is aims at exploring the different types of kenkey meals across Ghana aside

the commonly known ones.

It also debunks the notion that kenkey is for Gas only as Northern kenkey makes an appearance  this time at the event.

Activities that will make the event even more colorful include live band karaoke, musical chairs,

Good Old Days (Traditional Games) and lots of activities.

Winners of some competitions will be given some Gigi wears.

Time for Kenkey Fest is 9 am till you can’t eat any more balls of kenkey.

4th Edition Of Kenkey Fest Launched With Kenkey League

The fourth edition of  Ghana’s biggest food festival ‘Kenkey Fest’ has been launched.

This year’s event was launched by the communications director of the group in charge of the

festival, Mr Nii Attractive Mustapha (Mustapha Nii Okai Inusah), at a media briefing in Accra.

Speaking to the press, he told guests present this year’s edition of the Kenkey Festival will take

a different turn from previous editions.

“We have a complete new package for Ghanaians this year which promises to still be very traditional yet very entertaining than previous editions,” he said.

He also announced the launch of the Kenkey League in collaboration with Let’s Cook Gh

slated for 25th January to 25th February prior to the event.

This, he says, is to allow people to get creative with one of the staple meals in Ghana which is Kenkey.

The Kenkey League will  however see thirty-two people battle out for who garnishes a Kenkey

meal better with the two finalists engaging in a cooking and garnishing contest on the D-day at the event grounds.

“This is one of the entertaining packages we have and we encourage Ghanaians to partake in the competition,” Mr Mustapha added.

Kenkey Fest 2019 will take place at the Mantse Agbona, Jamestown near the monumental

Lighthouse building on 9th March, 2019.
