Christians Can’t Condemn Nudity – Sis Derby

Socialite Deborah Vanessa Bonsu has argued that Christians do not have to criticize nudity.

Defending her argument, the ‘African Mermaid’ said even Jesus Christ was half naked on the cross.

According to her, if going nude is harmful and shameful, Christians would have covered  Jesus’ nudity in post-presentations at least.

Sister Derby in her explanation to her point added that Ghana is too hot sometimes for people to cover themselves.

The ‘Kakalika’ hitmaker made this shocking comment after actress, Efia Odo

wrote something about peoples preference on social media.

According to the media personality, though social media has nudists like her, there are other influencers who are well clothed often on the platform and people are allowed to choose who they want to relate to.

Of course some Christians went on hard on her, condemning her for blasphemy whiles others too are applauding her for her views.

Kakalika Love’ Is No ‘Diss’ Song – Sister Derby Clears Air

Songstress, actress and model Deborah Owusu-Bonsu, also known as Sister Derby, says her

“Kakalika Love” track is not meant to scoff anyone.

Medikal and his new found love, Fella Makafui.

But contrary to speculations, the African mermaid has said that the ‘Kakalika love’ is no diss song.

According to her, although she released the song following her breakup with the “Too Risky” hit-maker, Medikal, the words of the song only seek to explain events that led to the breakup.

“When I went into the relationship, I was asked on national television, if I was dating him. I said yes. So after the breakup, this is my way of telling my fans. [And] I have done that with my song so that they know what happened,” she said.

In an interview on Monday with Accra based Citi FM, Sister Derby expressed surprise at the way sections of the public have twisted the song to suggest that she released the song to “diss” Medikal.

“It’s not a diss song. All of us, we love drama. We love entertainment and he himself [Medikal] has been saying it it’s a diss song. I don’t know If it is intentional because he and I know that we expressed ourselves, we tell our stories in music, there is no diss in the song” she explained.

The “Pure Water” hitmaker stressed that, the relationship was an open one and that the public could relate to what happened.

I Can Only Boil Water – Sister Derby Admits She Sucks At Cooking

Many people have been trying to dig out what actually caused the break-up between

rapper Medikal and his former girlfriend, Deborah Vanessa.

News of their break-up took Ghanaians by surprise few days ago and some fans of both

artistes are still wondering what might have caused the break-up.

The two, though seem to be enemies now, throwing jabs at each other in songs have actually

not made public what caused their one-time romantic relationship to hit the rocks.

Though some fans have attributed the break-up to be because of their age gap, others

feel Medikal probably cheated whiles he was still with Sister Derby.

A few Ghanaians however believe that Sister Derby, who was raised like a foreigner lacks

the basic qualities to qualify as the wife of a black Ghanaian man like Medikal.

Well, it is typical of most black men to look out for what they describe as ‘wife traits’ in women they go out with.

Key among them is the ability of a woman to prepare a well home made food, as they say

the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Of course some women, including a few

men believe this adage qualifies as archaic, yet majority still hold on onto it.

As such, some reports suggests that one of the reasons Medikal left Sister Derby was because

she (Deborah Vanessa) cannot cook and they have to always buy food from the restaurant.

Meanhwile, Sister Derby in a playback of an interview she granted Delay, literally admitted

she cannot cook and the best she can do is boil water.

“I can boil water”, she told the host when asked what food can you cook in the interview that we transcribed

Asked if she can be a responsible wife and if it is not wasting marrying someone like her she would be a very good wife to any man who walks down the aisle with her.

“Of course! Very lovely and caring…I can boil water”, she stated.

Meanwhile, Fella Makafui, Medikal’s new found love is reportedly a very good cook who could win the heart of any man who eats her food.

She also strongly campaigns for the correct disposal of the plastic, to facilitate proper recycling.

Environmental protection has proven a cardinal theme in her music for as long as she has been active. It is also prominent in the art of brother, Wanlov The Kuborlor —who directed the video. Back in May, the siblings collaborated on “RefuseReuseRecycle”, a number seeking to educate Ghanaians on the need to be mindful of how our actions affect the environment negatively, recycling as a better alternative to conventional methods of waste management among other things.

The most common way West Africans consume water now is in a palm-sized translucent plastic sachet. This has become one of the main contributors to plastic pollution. Sister Deborah hopes to have them banned.

Please ask for biodegradable pure water sachets if you have to buy some and make sure you dispose of them correctly so they can be recycled.

Photos: Sister Deborah Stuns In These Kente Kimono Clothes

Ghanaian Romanian born, Deborah Owusu-Bonsu has lightened up the fashion world by combining Ghanaian culture with that of the Japanese.

Deborah Vanessa or Sister Derby as she’s affectionately called is known for her immense love for culture.

Culture, they say is a way of life, which defines ones origin. That notwithstanding, culture is dynamic and is prone to change. Now there are many fashionistas out there that do a lot of slaying in Ghana but how many of them really portray the Ghanaian culture in their fashion?

Well, Sister Derby has just nailed it. We all know what a Kente Cloth is and the value we attach to it.  Just like the Kente Cloth, the Japanese kimono is one of the world’s instantly recognizable traditional garments. The word “kimono“, actually means a “thing to wear” (ki “wear” and mono “thing”). Up until the mid 19th century it was the form of dress worn by everyone in Japan. It is a long, loose traditional Japanese robe with wide sleeves, tied with a sash.

Deborah Vanessa is a presenter, musician and model. She has over the years demonstrated her love for fashion and culture through her photos on social media. This particular one is no exception as she beautifully radiates in these Kente Kimono clothes. What a beautiful way to mark the  ‘Wear Ghana Month
