Netflix dropped the first full trailer for the police shooting drama series a few days ago.

Ashitey is in movies such as Children of Men (2006), Beyond the Gates (2005) and Jimi: All Is by My Side (2013).

Other main casts include; Regina King, Russell Hornsby, Beau Knapp, Michael Mosley, David Lyons, Raul Castillo, Zackary Momoh, Nadia Alexander, and Coley Speaks.

It all started when a white cop accidentally runs down a black teenager–an act that leads to a cover-up and increased racial tensions.

Official synopsis:

In an instant, life is forever changed for Brenton Butler and his family. After a white cop accidentally hits and critically injures a black teenager.  A northeastern city explodes with racial tensions, an attempted cover up and its aftermath, and the trial of the century.

Seven Seconds is a powerful anthological crime thriller from the creator and executive producer of The Killing, Veema Sad.

Regina King plays Latrice Butler, a devout churchgoer and a proud wife, mother and first-time homeowner. She’s however shaken to her core when she learns that her 15-year-old son has been involved an incident.

Ashitey portrays KJ Harper, a black assistant prosecutor assigned to the incident, with troubles of her own. She grapples with the weight of the case and what it will mean to bring justice not only for Brenton, but for the Black community. KJ works closely with the teen’s mother Latrice Butler (Regina King) who realizes there may be more to her son than she and her husband (Russell Hornsby) were aware of, and becomes consumed with finding out what happened.

Hornsby is playing Isaiah Butler, and Momoh is playing Isaiah’s brother, who comes home from a tour in Afghanistan just in time to support the family. Castillo is Felix Osorio (a cop working on the Narcotics squad in Jersey City), respectively.

February 23 is the set date for the release of the drama series.
