Five(5) Reasons To Wear Seat belts

You have no doubt seen a couple of advertisements and public service announcements that declare the great need to wear one’s seat belt while in a car.  While the vast majority of studies still prove that wearing your seat belt is one of the best ways to protect yourself in a vehicle, everyone knows of someone who will swear blind that the only reason they emerged from a car accident unscathed is because they were unencumbered by a seat belt. Admittedly, there are always exceptions that prove the rule, but there shouldn’t be a debate when it comes to this issue – if you’re in a vehicle, strap in!

1.It’s an offense not to wear seat belts

If you’re caught not wearing one, you could find yourself facing expensive fines and consequences.

2. It protects your brain and spinal cord

A seat belt is designed to protect these two critical areas. Head injuries may be hard to see immediately, but they can be deadly. Likewise, spinal cord injuries can have serious consequences.

3. The beeping sound from modern seat belts are just plain annoying

Sparing the annoying onomatopoeia, the constant beeps, honks, and random noises that you car uses to remind you to buckle up don’t go away.

4. Sudden breaking won’t throw you forward

While examining your surroundings, you’ll find yourself slamming on the breaks to ensure that you don’t run an unexpected red light. While your vehicle comes to an abrupt stop, you won’t. Wearing your seatbelt can prevent this awkward and rather aggravating occurrence.

5. Makes good use of airbags

Air bags are much more effective when the driver and passengers are wearing their seat belts. If you’re not wearing your seat belt, then your body will most likely not remain in the position in which the airbag can protect you.
