“On the 19th August, I was on radio promoting ‘Mansa’ and was also getting ready to release the video. I was about to tweet and post the video of ‘Mansa’ song on social media when I had a call that my mum was really ill but I still went ahead to post the video. My mum passed on that same day. It was both joy and pain when the song was everywhere.”
According to Bisa Kdei, his mum’s death and his accident won him a public sympathy making
music lovers jam to his ‘Mansa’ song more.
He further disclosed that the song got him a lot of shows outside Ghana.
“It got to a time people complained that I have neglected my own people (Ghanaians) and I’m connecting with other African countries.
The song gave me a lot of recognitions where I had to perform it at Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon and other countries. Mansa has been my biggest hit song.” Bisa Kdei revealed.
According to the “Brother Brother” hitmaker, when he chooses to be outspoken, the media calls him arrogant and when he chooses to be quiet, they call him timid. He added that even his words during an interview are always twisted and they don’t appreciate his effort.
He tweeted;
“When you talk your mind they’ll say u r arrogant. Be cool they’ll say u r too timid. U do interview you’ll have a twisted story to tarnish your image just because some ppl want traffic. Win int. award seff they’ll say you didn’t rep your country well. Fvcked up industry”.
But a radio personality at Happy 98.9 FM however thinks that Bisa’s tweet was unprofessional.
In a live radio interview, the panelist was of the view that Bisa was arrogant for such tweet and could have managed his anger no matter how hurting the statement was. He was also of the view that Bisa using the “f*ck word” in his tweet was uncalled for.
Bisa in the long run apologized for his comment to whoever it may have offended.
High Life musician, Bisa K’dei has stated that his career is not dead as has been perceived by
many Ghanaians.
According to the ‘Brother Brother’ hitmaker Ghanaians have this perception because he is finding difficulty in beating the standard that his song “Mansa” set for him.
Bisa K’dei was a household name some years ago when he released “Mansa”.
The song earned him awards and performing gigs in and out of the country.
However, that does not seem to be the case with the artiste.
He is hardly heard although he keeps releasing songs from time to time.
Speaking to Accra-based Hitz FM, Bisa K’dei indicated that;
“We are doing our best. It doesn’t mean we are not working. When people say I’m slow on promo now, I tell them it’s because ‘Mansa’ was too loud out there I admit it’s because of the buzz. As an artiste I am going to do my best to push Highlife music”.
Renowned contemporary High-life artiste Bisa Kdei has expressed great worries over the degenerating nature of Ghana’s High-life.
Bisa believes that the massive love for dancehall genre by Ghanaians is what is killing the Highlife genre.
High-life music genre is the heartbeat of Ghana music. Thus, Ghanaians gave birth to the this genre, therefore, there’s the need for them to put strategic measures in place to protect and develop rapidly the indigenous genre.
According to the ‘Mansa’ hitmker, Ghanaians love for foreign music genres especially Dancehall is a contributing factor to its gradual collapse.
Bisa was peaking in an interview with Emcee Bebe, host of Entertainment Xtra on Cape 93.3FM.
“Highlife is struggling as far as Ghanaians continue to give much attention to foreign genres especially Dancehall.
We just have to believe in ourselves that Highlife is from us and push higher the indigenous music genre. One thing is that it’s only Highlife that’s putting Ghana out there,” he said.
Besides, the “Brother Brother” crooner noticed that Ghanaian artistes who are doing High-life are more recognized in Europe than those who are representing other genres.
To him, you (Ghanaian artsites) can’t sell Dancehall or Hip-Hop better than the Europeans because they’re the originators.
“The Europeans want to listen to indigenous music and instruments comparably to Dancehall among others if you’re a Ghanaian artiste. How can a Ghanaian artiste sell Dancehall music better than Jamaicans?” Bisa Kdei quizzed.
Bisa is currently out with a new single ‘Biribi Nti’ off his Highlife Konnect album.
But Bisa, in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, rubbished the
perception that he schemed with Becca to create the buzz.
“It’s the work we do. Anything can happen to help boost an artiste but the fact that it wasn’t there doesn’t mean you should put it there. We [Becca and Bisa] weren’t having an affair, someone just assumed it,” he told Andy.
Bisa Kdei is currently promoting his new album dubbed, “Highlife Konnect”.
A report on Ghanaweb.com, sighted by Ghaflagh.com, states that Ghanaian Highlife musician, Bisa Kdei is currently in the American police custody.
According to the report, Bisa Kdei was trespassing on the property of the American government without permission.
It further adds that Bisa was on set shooting the music video for “Asew” off his “Highlife Konnect” album in a white community. However, they cannot confirm if they had a permit or not.
The portal, however cleared that it has not confirmed the story yet.
As to what triggered the alarm, the source says there were a lot of blacks on set shooting in that particular white community. It therefore believes that one of the neighbors called the police for such trespassing.
All efforts to reach the management who are currently with Bisa Kdei in the States have so far proved futile.
One of his promoters here, when contacted said he can’t speak about the issue until he gets hold of Bisa Kdei himself.
Meanwhile, checks on Bisa Kdei’s Snapchat, @bisakdei page seems to show a video of him stating that; “I’ve been caught by the police”.
Ghaflagh.com is keenly following up on this story and will keep you updated on any new developments.
Highlife musician, Bisa Kdei, has finally broken his silence on ‘beef’ with his senior colleague, KK Fosu.
The ‘Mansa’ hitmaker stated that in spite of the many jabs thrown at him by his KK Fosu he still adores him.
Few weeks back, KK Fosu made headlines when he attacked Bisa Kdei saying he is a weak highlife ariste. He added that, Bisa wouldn’t have made it to the limelight if people like him(KK Fosu) were still actively involved in the music industry.
According to KK, the “Mansa” hitmaker has weak stagecraft and fears his (KK Fosu) brand hence wonders why he would continue being a highlife artiste.
But Bisa Kdei, in an interview with Adomonline’s Dennis Adu, rather eulogized KK Fosu.
He however, stated that he respects him and didn’t expect that he will make such demeaning statements about him in public.

He also added that, despite KK’s attacks, he(Bisa), still wouldn’t hesitate to collaborate with KK Fosu. Bisa noted that in the showbiz atmosphere there is no need to keep matters at heart.
“I think KK Fosu is a legend. I don’t think he should say things like that on radio. I see him as a big brother. Calling me for competition is not necessary because I rate him among the Daddy Lumbas so I respect and love him…”, he said.
“It is not affecting me because everyone knows what he is doing. I am his junior brother and if anything he should call me. He can advise me but if he says things on radio like that then it means something else. I don’t have any issues with him…”, he added.
