Media personality cum model, Berla Adarddey, best known as Berla Mundi has disclosed that hosting the 19h edition of the Ghana Music Awards “meant the world” to her.
Berla did a splendid job hosting the VGMAs which came of last Saturday alongside actor, John Dumelo. In previous years, she was one of the hosts for the Red Carpet sessions of the awards scheme.
Speaking to Showbiz, Miss Adarddey expressed gratitude to the organizers of the awards for giving her the opportunity to host Ghana’s biggest music awards event.
“It meant the world. This is my biggest stage ever since I started,” an excited Berla said.
“And it just meant that Charterhouse, VGMA and Ghana at large had come to accept me as someone they could trust enough to host such an event and so it meant the world to me. I’m always grateful for that,” she added.
Berla revealed that one thing that made her excel that night was not concentrating on her mistakes. Instead she focused on how to make the night one unforgettable one for not only herself but Ghanaians at large.
“I’ve always been a positive person, and so instead of thinking of the mistakes I could make, I was rather thinking of how I could make this the most memorable night for myself and Ghanaians as well.”
She however disagreed with assertions on social media that her co-host, John Dumelo performed poorly on the night. According to her; they “gelled really well. I think we did absolutely fantastic.”
Berla expressed her appreciation to Charterhouse, Vodafone and the Ghana Music Awards team for trusting her to host the show.
She was optimistic about doing “better” should she be asked to host the next edition in 2019.
Meanwhile, Ebony made history as the first female to win the ultimate – ‘Artiste of the Year’ at the 19th edition of the awards scheme which was held under the theme “Our Music Beyond Borders.”
