Awards are a way of honoring people for great works done,for this reason The Ghana Gospel Music Awards, which was launched in Kumasi on the 19 of July last year seeks to recognize and appreciate the contributions of gospel artistes for their relentless efforts in spreading the Gospel through music as well as their contributions to the creative arts sector.
Gifty Osei who is known for producing hot and inspiring gospel songs such as ‘Aseda, Yento Nkyia, Jesus Be Too Much, M’anidawoso among others over the years has been nominated for four categories of the awards including ‘Best Gospel Artiste, Best Gospel song, Best Gospel Album and Gospel Female Vocalist of the year.

A month ago, popular Kumawood Actor, singer and CEO of Boss Nation Kwadwo Nkansah Lil presented one of his popular hit songs ‘Ladder’ to the committee of the National Gospel Music Awards for consideration.
Gospel Personalities such as the first ever Gospel Musician to win the Ghana Music Awards – Joe Mettle, Anita Afriyie, Obaapa Christie, Diana Antwi Hamilton, OJ, Brother Sammy and UK Based Gospel Musician Sonny Badu are all battling it out for this year’s awards at the various categories.
The maiden edition of this year’s awards is scheduled for next month with about 31 categories which are being competed for by personalities in the gospel music industry.
