Shatta Wale To Be Honored At 2018 IRAWMA
On March 18, IRAWMA will honor dancehall act, Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah in USA
The list of award-winners and honorees for the 36 & 37th edition of IRAWMA.
Shatta Wale’s name is on the list. The ‘Freedom’ hitmaker took to Instagram to share the news with his fans and thank the organizers.
IRAWMA is the acronym for International Reggae & World Music Awards.
The award is to honor him for his outstanding contributions to Reggae in Ghana and at the global level.
Shatta Wale was adjudged BEST AFRICAN SONG/ENTERTAINER at the 2016 edition of IRAWMA.
The event will come off at the Logan Center for Arts, University of Chicago, Illinois USA.
Background of the award;
Established in 1982, the International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA) aims at acknowledging and honoring the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artists. This includes songwriters, performers, promoters and musicians.
