MUSIGA’s List Is Opinion Not Fact – Joe Mettle

Joe Mettle has reacted to the top 20 most played songs released by The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA). He describes the list as an opinion.

Recently, MUSIGA released the list for the top 20 most played songs in Ghana for 2017. The list had Ebony Reigns topping the chat with her song ‘Sponsor’.

Reactions To The List

However, the list did not contain any gospel songs. Therefore, people flooded the Internet to question the authenticity of its source.

Joe Mettle made his opinion known in an interview on Happy FM’s ‘After Drive Show’. He stated that MUSIGA is not being truthful with the list they collated. The gospel singer challenged the authenticity of the list. His reason was that most presenters start their shows with gospel songs.

Statement From Joe Mettle

“Without research, one can tell gospel songs are played constantly on air.” 

“I am wondering how the research was done.”

“ Until we are shown the bases of the research, the top 20 most played songs is just their opinion and that cannot be challenged.” 

Furthermore, Mettle added that gospel musician’s work hard. Also, even though they encounter challenges in promoting their songs, most played songs does not mean most successful.

Finally, Joe Mettle, despite the list released by MUSIGA, looks forward to maintaining his reign as Artist Of the year 2018.
