“Y’all A Bunch Of Idiots And Hypocrites” – Jupitar Slams VGMA Board
It looks like there’s no year that VGMA wouldn’t be confronted by any artiste(s) after revealing its nominees.
The scheme has faced lots of backlashes from various artistes over the years and this year’s is not exception.
Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Michael Okine also known in showbiz as Jupitar has fumed at this year’s VGMA nominees list.
The full nominees list was released over the weekend by Chatterhouse, organizers of the awards scheme.
You might have noticed that so far, Jupiter’s name doesn’t appear on any of the categories.
Jupiter has expressed his anger at the scheme for not nominating him or any of his songs in the awards.
Peeved Jupitar took to his twitter handle to slam at the board.
He referred to the VGMA board as ‘bunch of idiots and hypocrites’.
“VGMA board, y’all bunch a idiots and hypocrites, I fucking submitted this time and it was a song that actually won big in U.K. (Clowns ), keep it up”, he tweeted.
Flash Back
Last year, Jupitar picked up the Best African Act award at the 15th edition of the annual Urban Music Awards in UK. He beat strong competitors including Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade, & Others to emerge winner.
Perhaps, we can understand his frustration as he probably expected to earn a nomination considering this.
Meanwhile, Jupitar is not the only artiste whose name is missing in this year’s edition. Other big acts like EL, Manifest, Medikal, Edem are all missing in action.
