Is Dumsor Back? – Yvonne Nelson Quizzes

hit by power crises popularly known as ‘Dumsor’.

Yvonne is a former crusader against ‘dumsor’ under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration.

Her question is borne out of the fact she experienced power outage the whole of Sunday,

December 16, 2018 despite assurances from the Ministry of Energy some weeks ago that

the country is never returning to the era of ‘dumsor’.

“Has #DUMSOR started??? Our light has been off the whole day!” she quizzed in a tweet calling on Ghanaians to wake up.

This comes barely a fortnight after she took to Twitter to rant about hardship in Ghana.

Known for speaking her mind on a myriad of issues, she took to Twitter to post that times

are hard for a lot of Ghanaians and things are going bad.

She wrote: “Things are hard in this country!!!! It’s that bad!!!!!!”

This solicited generally affirmative reactions from her followers who shared their own

evidence of the hardship they are confronted with in their lives while others tried to motivate her.

It would be recalled that in May 2015, the award-winning actress and some Ghanaian

celebrities, including Sarkodie, Yvonne Nelson and DKB, held a vigil to put pressure on the

government to find a solution to the current power crisis.

The vigil was a platform to register their frustrations with the power crisis popularly known as ‘Dumsor’.
