I Should Have Won VGMA ‘Artiste Of The Year’ Five Years Ago – Shatta Wale

Dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly called Shatta Wale has said, he should have been crowned ‘Artiste of the Year’ five years ago.

In an interview with Dr.Poundz on Hitz Gallery, he said, “from 2013 to 2017, all the awards winners for the ‘Artiste of the Year’ should know I deserved it. They shouldn’t think they worked hard. They should come out. I am just doing business…”

He also noted that he was better then and is now than those who won the prestigious award.

“Ghanaians know I have set a record regardless. I would have copped it five years on the row. We don’t have to hide the truth from the young ones coming…” Shatta Wale maintained.

The ‘Taking Over’ hit maker further extended his gratitude towards President Nana Addo for inviting him to the Flagstaff house.

“It was such a great honour to meet the president. The feeling was great…” he said.

Shatta Wale further called on fellow Ghanaian musicians to support the ‘Unity Agenda’ to put Ghana on the international map.

“We need everyone’s support. It was a great honor to meet the president. The feeling was great. We should try and be truthful to matters that are important to us. We need to have one mind to support the agenda. We need to better the future…” he maintained.
