I Always Want To Give My Fans A Different Thing – Kwesi Arthur
Tema-based Hip-hop artiste, Kwesi Arthur says he always wants to be divergent with his fans in terms of music.
According to the ‘Grind Dey’ hitmaker, he always wants to take his fans to a journey that they haven’t embark before.
“I always want to give my fans what they haven’t heard before. I don’t just do hip-hop, I do African music.” Kwesi Arthur said in an interview with Melvina Frimpong Manso on Suncity Radio’s Showbiz 97.1 in Sunyani.
When asked how difficult it is to do hip-hop in Ghana, Kwesi Arthur answered:
“Hip-hop is not a genre that is well accepted in Ghana so it’s kinda hard. But people love my songs and they are accepting it.
It [Hip hop] has been overlooked and we have to push it hard.”
Kwesi Arthur, however, admitted that his fan base is growing steadily.
He also revealed that Sarkodie felt in love with his ‘Grind Day’ song, and that’s the reason why they did a remix of it.
Commenting on how his 2018 BET Awards ‘Best New International Act’ nomination came about, he said,
“I was on twitter and I saw someone’s post that I have been nominated. Went to BET’s official page to confirm. I was overwhelmed. I’ve now noticed that there is unity in our industry looking at how people are voting and also calling on others to do same.”
