Furthermore, certain women in Ghana set the pace in various fields of their endeavour. They opened the gateway for younger women to believe that they can aspire to such positions. Also, these are women who received backlash for their positions.

Charlotte Osei

She was the first woman to be appointed as Electoral Commissioner.

Patricia Mawuli

Patricia is Ghana’s first female civilian pilot. Also, she is the first woman in West Africa certified to build and maintain rotax engines.

She was the first Female speaker of Parliament in Ghana.

Jane was the the first female Vice-Chancellor of a state University in Ghana.

Esther was a Ghanaian entreprenuer. Also, she was the pioneer of women in banking worldwide. She was one of the founders of Women’s World Banking in 1976. Furthermore, Google actually has a day that celebrates her.
