Photos: The Wow Moments At Ghana’s 61st Independence Day Parade
Ghana celebrated her 61 years of independence yesterday 6th March, 2018.
The theme for the anniversary was ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’.
As usual, the day was celebrated across the ten regions of the country with a parade.
The grand of the them all is held at the Black Stars Square in Accra.
The Black Stars Square is where Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, stood and proclaimed the country’s independence.
Once again it witnessed yet another historic moment yesterday when smartly dressed Ghanaians trooped there to mark 61 years of independence from Britain.
Typical of Ghana’s independence day celebration yearly, school children and men and women of the country’s security services performed a march past to salute the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is also the Commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Here, the President of the Ghana, invited guests and some dignitaries join a host of Ghanaian to celebrate the day.
Past presidents and other former heads of state too make themselves available during this occasion.
Meanwhile, Ex president John Dramani was not present at the event.
This is because, he had led a delegation out of the country, hence his absence.
However, there were colorful display of culture and patriotism yesterday at Ghana at 61.
