All Ebony Needs Is Love, Not Insults – Sonnie Badu
UK-based gospel musician, Dr. Sonnie Badu has called on Ghanaians to support and show love to Ebony, not insults.
The “Okokroko” hitmaker was speaking in an exclusive interview with Peace FM’s Sammy Kumah(Sammy Kay).
According to the Minister of the Gospel, “Everyone has his/her own reason for behaving in a certain way. Therefore before you criticize anyone, listen to the person’s story and know what they have been through”.
Sonny Badu further called on Ghanaian media, entertainers and the general public to stop criticizing and insulting Ebony, for her choice of costumes.
Sonnie Badu’s Speech
“All Ebony needs is love, not insults because she is indeed a great talent. Although she is known for half-naked dressing, she didn’t dress that way when she launched her album recently. And that is why there is the need to know why she sometimes dresses that way before you criticize her- the “Baaba” hitmaker explained.
Dancehall diva, Ebony has received backlashes from many critics for her half-naked fashion style. She however has the massive support of her father, Nana Poku Kwarteng.
“We shouldn’t be hypocrites……. most of those who insult her for dressing half naked are the same people who go to watch her shows”, he added.
When asked if he listens to secular songs, considering the fact that he’s a gospel musician, he answered in the affirmative. He confirmed he listens to songs by Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Ebony, etc.
According to him, we’re in a social world. Hence, it is important for one to always be abreast of time.
