DJ Switch Gets Featured On CNN
CNN featured Erica Armah Bra-Bulu Tandoh aka DJ Switch on their network. The CNN captions their feature of the talented young DJ:
“rose to international fame through a mixture of her feisty attitude, online music videos, and total cuteness.”
Switch is the only girl of Ghanaian parents with five children and hails from Dadieso in the Western region. Moreover, according to her
“I came up with the name DJ Switch because when I was a kid I switched up the mood of people. When you’re sad I’ll make you happy when you’re happy and you want to be more excited, I’ll make you excited…”.
Also, she revealed how she learned to DJ roughly a year ago, in a village bar.The local DJ taught her how to use a laptop.
In June this year, Erica became the youngest person to win Ghana’s annual DJ award. Furthermore, three months later, she opened the Bill and Melinda Gates’ Foundation’s annual Goalkeepers event in New York.
Also, she shared a few words to her age mates. She stated that:
“Never feel nervous. Be focused on whatever you’re doing. You don’t need to let shyness be in your dictionary.”
She also disclosed that in as much as she loves the DJing, she is also very focused on her education.
“I love school, I don’t want to joke with my books because I have a dream of being a gynecologist…Education is the key to success”
“I wanna be a very big DJ and my goal is to combine DJing and a future as a gynecologist. … Let’s say in the future you come to my hospital and you want to deliver and I’ll just be playing some music and you’ll see your baby dancing while it’s coming.”
