which are slated for next year.

Two members of the party allege new guidelines adopted by party executives earlier

this year were against the party’s 1992 constitution.

The plaintiffs, Abdallah Issa from Galelia and James Kabu Natey-Oman from Old Bortianor, want the addition of new eligibility criteria by the National Executive Committee of the party to be scraped off by the court.

Their filing said they were seeking, among others; “A declaration that the usurpation by the Function Executive Committee of the powers and responsibilities of the National Executive Committee in respect of the guidelines for the conduct of the Presidential Elections in unconstitutional,”

The criteria were part of the newly introduced guidelines and according to them, violate the NDC’s constitution.

The presiding judge thus granted an interim injunction during a court sitting today, December 18th.

The race has been heating up in recent times, with the front-runners so far believed to be former President John Mahama and Professor Joshua Alabi.

The NDC flag-bearer elections are slated for January 26th, 2019.
