My Name Is Bigger Than RTP – Omanhene Kwabena Asante

Host of Adom TV’s Badwam, Omanhene Kwabena Asante talks about the Radio & Television Personality Awards (RTP). According to him, he disassociates from anything that he views as disrespectful or anything that he thinks will make money out of him without his prior notice. Also, in his personal opinion is what Prince Mackay’s RTP Awards stands for.

The celebrated broadcaster stated that he does a lot of work in the media space over the years. Therefore, it does not take an award from discredited awards scheme like the RTP to get his name out there. Furthermore, he added that he feels very disrespected that Prince Mackay and his awards scheme. This is because they added his name to various categories of the awards without his foreknowledge.

The Multimedia journalist added that he believes his name is bigger than the RTP Award. Also, he established that he made the name for himself through a lot of hard work. Therefore, no award scheme can discredit or negate his name.

Moreover, the interviewer asked him if he had evidence to back his claims. He stated that he is the evidence himself. Also, he added that he wasn’t aware of his colleague, Kwamena Idan’s banter with the awards.

He expressed his displeasure about the nomination because he strongly believes his name has a constituency and the organizers of the awards are tarnishing it just to promote their awards. However, he disclosed that he will not sue Prince Mackay and his awards scheme.
