Don’t Rush To Get Hit Songs That Can’t Stand The Test Of Time- Akwaboah Junior

Ghanaian prolific songwriter, singer and music producer, Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah  Junior, who is a signee under Sarkcess Music has clearly stated that Ghanaian musicians should take their time to produce good songs, but shouldn’t rush to get hit songs that can’t stand the test of time.

According to him,  good music takes time in terms of production, but it will also last long with the people even when you are no more, so that’s why he is taking his time to do a good song that will speak to the soul and also project Ghanaian music to the world, he said in an interview with www.flexgh.com.

Akwaboah is on the same page with some old musicians who think the current crop of artistes do not do good songs that will last long and can promote Ghana as it should be. He believes the current crop of songs is of low content.

“Some of the songs we have out there are out of low standard. But some of them are of quality and projecting Ghana to the world.

Akwaboah is also looking forward to releasing his first album under Sarkcess Music titled ‘matters of the heart’. The album, he said, talks about love, relationship and issues facing people in the societies. He isof a strong believe that this album will have impact in the music industry both local and international.

Akwaboah, is known for his prolific talent not only in singing but also in writing songs for some top artistes in Ghana both in the secular and gospel aspects including the likes of Becca and ASP Kofi Sarpong. He also had a major influence on Sarkodie’s fourth album, Mary.

He further stated that Ghanaians should have patience with him not getting a hit song under Sarkcess Music, because no one thinks about his music career more than Sarkodie, so he believes it is just a matter of time and hard work that will on his part.

He continued by saying that every musician or artiste should not force themselves to be signed by any record label because of money. ‘’Even though they are into business, they should rather think of how helpful the record label will be to their music career and brand.

He quickly added that Ghana music industry is growing but some Ghanaian musicians need to learn to perform live with a band. This effort, he believes would make people appreciate Ghanaian music and also help Ghanaian musicians win more awards internationally.
