My Grandmother Wept When I Won My First VGMA Award – Trigmatic

Ghanaian rapper, Trigmatic talks about his first VGMA. Moreover, he recounted that his grandmother shed tears when he won his first award at the Ghana Music Awards.

According to the rapper, his grandmother could not hold back her tears of joy when he won the ‘Best Rapper of the Year’ at the 2011 edition of the awards. He made these statements to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz.

Furthermore, Trigmatic revealed that he took his grandmother to experience the awards on that day. This was because he was confident of winning and wanted her to share in his victory.

Shatta Wale Lists The Total Number Of Awards He Has Won Since 2013

Shatta Movement boss, Shatta Wale has listed the total number of awards he has won ever

since his comeback in the music industry 6 years ago.

Shatta Wale, formerly called Bandana released his first album around 2004.

The album which by then contained his energetic hit song dubbed ‘Mokohoo’ topped a lot

of Ghanaian musical charts back then.

After the release of the hit album, he went into a musical break for close to 10 years.

Christians Can’t Condemn Nudity – Sis Derby

Socialite Deborah Vanessa Bonsu has argued that Christians do not have to criticize nudity.

Defending her argument, the ‘African Mermaid’ said even Jesus Christ was half naked on the cross.

According to her, if going nude is harmful and shameful, Christians would have covered  Jesus’ nudity in post-presentations at least.

Sister Derby in her explanation to her point added that Ghana is too hot sometimes for people to cover themselves.

Pentecost Church Bans Amorous Pre-Wedding Photos

The Church of Pentecost has banned sexually suggestive pre-wedding photo shoots.

According to the church, a lot of would-be couples abuse the act by going to the extreme of

“touching” vital areas of each other as if they were already married.

The Church said it is about time it pulled the brakes on such acts before the sanctity of holy

matrimony is broken.

This was announced Saturday by the General Secretary of the Church, Apostle Nana Yaw Kumi,

at the ongoing Global Minister’s Conference at Pentecost Convention Center (PCC) – Gomoa

Fetteh near Kasoa in the Central region of Ghana.

“During the pre-engagement time, under the guise of courting, they would be taking all sorts of pictures and spread it all over the place, and the pictures suggest they are already married,” Kumi stated.

“You would realise that where they are touching and what they are doing are things that are supposed to be done by married couples. So we really want to discourage that…

some are even bold enough to bring it on the day of the celebration of the marriage, you see them on the screen – somebody has raised the lady, sitting on his lap, touching this place and all that. We really want to discourage it that is what mean by modestly and decently.”

Also, the Church has prohibited the serving of alcoholic beverages and playing of circular

songs with ungodly lyrics during wedding receptions.

Pastors of the Church have been charged to encourage moderate and decent weddings to cut down cost.

The Church has also initiated measures to strengthen premarital counseling for prospective

couple before brought to the altar to reduce the divorce rate.

According to the Church, it shall continue to hold in high esteem chastity in marriage and

strongly frown upon premarital sexual relationship between prospective couples.

Nana Ama McBrown Shows Baby Bump For The First Time Since Pregnancy Rumors(VIDEO)

Award-winning actress, Nana Ama McBrown has finally shown a heavy baby bump months after reports that she is pregnant.

The screen goddess has been widely reported to be pregnant since August 2018.

Since the reports came up,

McBrown however has not officially responded to any of such reports except on one

occasion in which she replied to rumours concerning her marriage saying she could not

be worried about what people said about her.

After some silence, reports of McBrown being pregnant resurfaced in November following

the emergence of a video seemingly confirming so.

In the video, McBrown was seen with a much bigger belly and than she was known for.

But later photos from the actress showing a rather flat belly got some fans confused about

the pregnancy.

Nana Ama subtly addressed this confusion when she stated on Yvonne Okoro’s “Dining with

Cooks and Braggarts” show, that she was going to drop two babies soon.

But if there were any doubts about her pregnancy, her latest video posted on Instagram should adequately clear them.

In the video, Nana Ama  could be seen heavily pregnant with a protruding belly which clearly

indicates that she is pregnant and may be due to give birth soon.

DJ Kess Set To Perform At SXSW Music Festival 2019

Ghanaian female DJ, DJ Kess is among the artists performing at the 2019 SXSW Music Festival. Moreover, the festival holds March 11-17, 2019. The announcement came in November of 2018. Aside DJ Kess, who is known for her music mixing skills on Y Lounge between 7-10pm on YFM. Also, she is popular for her records including ‘Thinking of You’, ‘Take Away’, ‘Whine Dat’ and more.

Furthermore, Kess joins Ghanaian counterparts, E.L, Samini, Efya and Jojo Abot. The festival is at Austin, Texas. Other African artists booked at the festival includes Simi, Adekunle Gold, Mayorkun, Vector, Falz, Mr Eazi, Seyi Shay, Yemi Alade, Cassper Nyovest, Victoria Kimani, Khaligraph and Anatii.

DJ Kess discovered her talent in Senior High School (Archbishop Porter Girls, Takoradi) when she was made the school’s official DJ. Her passion to become a DJ grew bigger when she realized that she could learn and become a good DJ and a music producer, now that she has access to all the sound equipments the school had. What looked like a one-time wonder now became Kess’s profession after immense training. She has been djing professionally as a radio DJ with YFM for the past 10 years.

Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah aka Lilwin has slammed organizers of Ghana Movie

Awards for snubbing Kumasi actors at the 2018 Ghana Movie Awards.

Kwadwo Nkansah in an interview with Naa Klordey Odonkor on Ultimate Drive,

chided organizers of Ghana Movie Awards for failing to nominate even one Kumasi actor for

the awards ceremony despite all the strides Kumasi actors are making in the industry.

Ghana Music Awards Organizers Cut Me Out- Mzbel

Controversial Ghanaian singer, Mzbel talks about the Ghana Music Awards. Moreover, she revealed why organizers of the Ghana Music Awards cut her out of the awards scheme.

She made these statements in an interview on TV3’s New Day. According to her, the issues started when she complained about her 2005 hit song ‘I6 Years’ not winning an award at the 2006 edition of the awards show.

“Because we had issues, I remember as far back as 2006, I complained about ‘16 years’ not winning an award and every time they will nominate me and the panelists will go on TV and discredit me, and the people have to vote and you don’t expect people to vote for me. And even way before and after we sorted it out, it’s like they cut me out”

Mzbel revealed this in answer to a question about filing for the 2019 edition of the awards show.

Currently, she hosts a sex-and-relationship talk show on Onua 95.1 FM.

Stonebowy Named 2019 Sanitation Ambassador For Ashaiman

The Ashaiman Municipal Assembly (ASHMA), has named top Dancehall artiste, Livingstone

Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebowy the sanitation ambassador for the Ashaiman

Municipality at a special ceremony.

Stonebowy was presented a citation during the ceremony by the Assembly for his selfless

and meritorious service to the Municipality.

Reading the citation, Mr. Albert Boakye Okyere, Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive, noted

that, the Ashaiman based musician had “put the name of Ashaiman on the global map through

his music and artistry hence the need to appreciate his effort”.

Mr Okyere called on the youth to emulate the lifestyle of the musician and do something

meaningful for themselves to earn decent living and respect.

Stone Bowy, on his part, expressed gratitude to the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly for the

recognition and assured that would help to improve sanitation in the area.

The Ghanaian dancehall artist noted that, “Ashaiman was a nice place and people from the

area must be proud to mention it anywhere they found themselves”.

He advised residents to use available resources to make Ashaiman a safe haven for humanity.

He reminded residents that, bad sanitation practices could endanger the lives of innocent

people and urged them to keep their communities clean and avoid diseases that cost so much to cure.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Mr. Patrick Tsigbe, Ashaiman Municipal Environmental

Health Officer, Ashaiman Municipal Assembly, said the ASHMA would prosecute offenders of its sanitation bylaws.

Recently, Kuukuwa Andam made a startling revelation about the current Ghana Bar Association President, Anthony Forson Jnr. According to Kuukuwa the president allegedly raped her in 2012.

I Sometimes Feel Like Quitting Music – Kumi Guitar

Highlife artiste, Kumi Guitar talks about his music career. According to him, he wanted to quit music long ago. This is because of the betrayal he suffered at the hands of some individuals. Guitar made these statements in an interview with Showbiz.

“Honestly, most times, I feel like quitting music because I feel I should have been at the top by now but some individuals end up betraying me.

Nigerian Comedians Not Funnier Than Ghana’s – KSM

Ghanaian satirist and comedian, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) talks about comedy in Ghana. Moreover, he refuted suggestions that Nigerian comedians are better than their Ghanaian counterparts.

He spoke about this in an interview on Class 91.3FM’s Executive Breakfast Show by host Benjamin Akakpo. The host asked him whether Ghanaians can match up to their colleagues from Nigeria, KSM answered in the affirmative.

“Oh! Yes, definitely. I say that without a doubt” 

“If I put up DKB, Lekzy, I am sorry if I haven’t mentioned some of the other names, but I know about Foster, too. If we put them together and really have them prepare for a ‘Ghana Meets Naija’, they will do so well”.

Also, he criticised Ghanaians “for being hard on our comedians”. In his view,

“We are extra hard on them and sometimes it discourages them”.

For him, he “does not find [Nigerians] funnier than Ghanaian comedians. I don’t”.
