Ghana Music Can Be Better If We Support Each Other – Wendy Shay

First lady of RuffTown records, Wendy Shay says out of 10, she will rate the Ghana music

industry 7 because of the lack of support in the industry.

The ‘Astalavista’ singer however noted that the industry can go far if the artists support

themselves rather than the backbiting that exists in the industry.

According to her, she believes that if artists with experience are able to personally speak to the

upcoming ones about things they don’t do right rather than taking to social media to post such

comments, it will go a long way to bring solidarity in the industry and drive the industry to growth.

“We don’t support each other. If a co-artiste does something wrong, it is expected that you contact the person personally and advise them but it’s not so. They would rather take to social media and throw shades at you” she told host Yaa Konamah in a chat on UTV.

Reacting to a question on whether she was friends with any of the female artists, Wendy Shay

said even though she has no issues them, she can say she is not friends with any of them except

Adina whom she has a personal relationship with. She however added that, when they meet and there is the need to talk, they talk.

Wendy also added that even though she does not believe in selling yourself through ‘diss songs’, she would not miss an opportunity to release good diss song if the need arises.

She also spoke about her first major concert which is just a few days away urging her fans to come and support her.

The Shay Concert is slated for this Sunday, 23rd December 2018 at the La Palm Beach Resort.

Gold dealership firm, Menzgold Ghana rubbished reports on social media. A few days ago, posters circulated that Menzgold is set to organize an end of year “Customer Bash”.

Moreover, the artwork says the bash is on December 31, 2018.

Therefore, this infuriated many customers who took to social media to pour out their frustrations.

However, they released a statement to quash claims about the concert

Menzgold statement about customer bash

DISCLAIMER

My attention has been drawn to a fictitious artwork which is circulating on social media and other platforms claiming the institution will be organizing an “OFFICIAL MENZGOLD CUSTOMER BASH”

I would like to state categorically that Menzgold Ghana has not released any artwork to that effect, and this could only be the work of unscrupulous vicious minds.

Therefore, customers are encouraged to disregard and treat this fake artwork with the contempt it deserves.

Thank you

A lot of Ghanaians described his actions as needless. However, Efia Odo took a different stance on the issue.

In an Instagram comment, Efia applauds the man of God for his actions. Also, she makes the point that Ghanaians should allow him to show the radio station that erred. Efia added that people should understand that the man of God has the right just like any other person out there to defend himself if he feels people want to tarnish his image. The ‘Heels and Sneakers’ actress ended by stating that Rev. Owusu Bempah is not perfect and has every right to get upset.

The man of God, whilst storming out of the studios, destroyed a laptop and a other few equipment.

“I want Ghanaians to give me the chance. I want me fellow celebrities to talk about my songs. They will see me in town and familiarize but ignore me on social media. It’s a game but we all want the same thing and in the same direction. I don’t want them to see me as Pat Thomas’s daughter.

“I don’t just do music for Ghanaians. If I am just doing for Ghanaians then I will stick to the ‘My Hunny vibe’. But I have to start from home but they should try to accept me…,”she added

‘This Is New Africa’ Festival Will Change The African Narrative – Fuse ODG

UK-based Ghanaian artiste Fuse ODG, known privately as Nana Richard Abiona is confident

the maiden “This Is New Africa (TINA)” Festival will create the platform for Africans to retell their stories.

Fuse ODG has launched his maiden edition concert dubbed ‘Tina Fest’ [This is the new Africa]

on Saturday December 15 in Accra.

Tine Fest is aimed at displaying the rich African culture, including wearing Kente cloth (Kente Party).

Addressing the media at a press soiree Friday, Fuse ODG lamented the negative image

the media portrays of Africa, calling for collective efforts to change that demeaning narrative.

“I travel a lot and I represent Ghana everywhere I go. And I’m always putting Ghana in a positive light and as I have said the media likes to portray Africa in such a negative way, that we have to stand up and tell our story. And that is what TINA, This Is New Africa is all about.

Creating a platform where we can start telling our own story so something like TINA festival is a platform and it’s the battleground for people to come back home and experience our culture, and experience Ghana the way that we know,” the ‘Antenna’ hitmaker said.

Fuse ODG cautioned Ghanaians against projecting the country’s shortfalls, but
