Gospel musician, Francis Amo talks about his performances. According to the musician, the days of performing for free at churches are over. This is because he charges for every show now, whether at the church or outside the church. He made these statements while speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.

Moreover, the gospel musician stated that he misunderstands why churches expect gospel musician to perform for free. Therefore, he told the churches that the old Francis Amo is not the same as this new one, and as such, they should accept the changes.

Furthermore, Andy Dosty asked Francis if he has the same arrangement at his personal church. However, he revealed that at his church, he does not charge to perform. This is because his church takes very good care of him through monthly allowances.

Also, he added that he took this decision because, many churches today always show little or no gratitude at all to musicians and instrumentalists. Moreover, he used the example of instrumentalists getting GHS 10.00 after performing for a while. Francis made the point that it is totally wrong. Therefore, he called for a change in this narrative.

Also, Francis Amo stated that the biggest problem is that most of the churches do not help the gospel musicians to become well established. However, once the gospel musician becomes well established, these same churches will want to use them for free and as such the decision he has taken.

Yolo TV star, Fella Makafui updates her friendship status. The actress announced her new best friend. Moreover, in an Instagram video, she revealed to the world a new bestie Tema based rapper, Kwesi Arthur.

In the video, she is in a car with the ‘Woara’ hitmaker. Also, she happily declared him as the new bestie. Furthermore, it looks like Kwesi Arthur was happy with the news

However, this new video caused a stir on social media. This is because that was how Fella Makafui and Medikal described their relationship. Therefore, people are skeptical about this new ‘bestie’ relationship. Some people are already warning MDK to be very careful because if care is not taken, the Fan Milk company’s recently unveiled brand ambassador, Kwesi Arthur, may soon take his place

Afro beats musician, Mr Eazi is in a spot of trouble. “TerraKulture”, an arts center in Lagos, Nigeria banned him from the premises.

Moreover, According to reports, he spoke rudely to a lady. However, the lady turned out to be the owner of the establishment. The Nigerian singer reportedly booked TerraKulture for his show. However, he cancelled the show.

The ‘Akwaaba’ hitmaker reportedly spoke rudely to a lady who unknowing to him was the owner of the place. Her name is Bolanle Austen-Peters.

Upon realizing his mistake, Mr Eazi apologized profusely to the owner who was having none of it.

Eazi’s actions earned him a permanent ban from the establishment, hence the cancellation of his show.

Ghanaian-American actor and comedian, Michael Blackson is back home. Moreover, he had a glorious homecoming over the weekend, when he hosted the 2018 AFRIMA.

He has several posts about his experience back home. However, his most notable post was about reggae/ dancehall artist, Stonebwoy.

He took to his instagram page about his encounter with the reggae/dancehall star. He wrote:

“I saw him perform for the first time and this modasucka is the truth. Ghana’s greatest gift from God @stonebwoyb”

Born in Ghana, Blackson moved to the US in 1987. Moreover, he started his comedy career in Philadelphia, PA where he completed high school. Also, Blackson has performed in many well-known comedy competitions.

The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Catherine Afeku talks about the AFRIMA deal. Moreover, she disclosed that the government has an amount of $ 4.5 million to support the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA). The awards further happened in the country from the 21st of November – 24th November, 2018.

She made these statements on Hitz FM. Mrs. Afeku said that Ghana hosting the 5th AFRIMA is an opportunity to boost tourism and creative arts. Also, she revealed that Ghana will be hosting for 3 years.

“Government is supporting the event with $4.5 million for the three years but for this year, we are spending $ 700,000” 

According to her, the governments promise to invest in Tourism and the Creative Arts has seen it funding festivals like the ChaleWote festival. She also added that the Ghana Music Awards, amongst others will also receive funding.

AFRIMA is an annual award show launched in 2014 to celebrate African Creative excellence.

Ghanaian musician, Wiyaala talks about her performances. According to her, she knows what her audiences always want. She made these statements in an interview with Showbiz.

“I have never repeated any of my moves anytime I mount the stage to perform making me look new all the time.

“More so, I am constantly rehearsing with my band to give my audience the best out of me” 

Moreover, according to the Leno singer, flopping isn’t in her dictionary.

“I don’t know what will make me flop on stage when I know what my audience want. In fact I have never flopped on any stage since I hit the limelight about five years ago”

Also, she explained that no one can predict her performance making her unique and one of the most sought after musicians in Ghana.

“I also leave my audience or fans screaming for more and that is what I want every musician to do.

“The fans pay to watch you so you need to entertain them and make them enjoy your act” 

Currently working on her album, Wiyaala stated that she has been busy performing at different countries.

“I am one of the busiest artistes in Ghana at the moment. I am mostly in different countries killing it there” 

The 5th All Africa Music Awards was over the weekend. Moreover, stars from all over Africa converged in Accra for the event. As usual they came in style!

In attendance, were music stars, dignitaries, and music lovers across the continent.

Ghanaian Kumawood actress, Yaa Jackson has a lot to say about her critics. The actress is just 17 years old and people describer her as Kumasi’s very own “Moesha Boduong”. Moreover, she had somethings to clear of her chest about critics who jump in the comments section on her social media pages. According to her, these people go there and write negative things about her.

She made these statements on the “Delay Show”. She further spoke about what her “Sponsor” does for her.

She stated that she wears expensive dresses that cost about Gh1000 cedis. Therefore, these are the reasons that people criticize her. This is because they are unable to afford what she has. Delay asked her how she could afford such expensive dresses. She openly revealed they are presents from her “boyfriend bi” aka “Sponsor”.

The 17year old started on the screens as a child actor recently took an interest in music and released her first single “Tear Rubber”

Ghanaian musician, Kuami Eugene talks about Nigerian superstar, Davido. Moreover, he expressed his admiration for Nigerian artist. This is because Davido approached him for the collaboration.

He further stated that Davido’s music always moved him. Therefore, he is the “best” artiste in the whole of Africa.

He made these statements in an interview on GHOne TV’s Rythmz Live with Eli Kharis. The ‘Angela’ hit-maker acknowledged that Davido’s talent in music is worth listening to.

“My extreme respect for Davido comes when he personally approached me for a collaboration. Davido is a matured person, he’s ruling his world, a King somewhere and on top of Africa. So for him coming down to approach a young guy like me Kuami Eugene, I felt honoured and amazed asking myself if it was real. Davido is a masterpiece on his own and he respect the hard work people are putting in their works and I respect him for that” 

The 5th All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA was over the weekend. In attendance were music stars, dignitaries, and music lovers across the continent. Moreover, the annual music event celebrates and rewards African talents

There were a total of 36 categories culled from the Regional and Continental categories. Furthermore, there were special recognition awards fully decided by the International Committee of AFRIMA. The first honoree was internationally recognized South African singer, Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

Also, Executive Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode had a special recognition for his contributions towards the growth and development of the Arts and Tourism sector of Lagos state.

Lastly, one of Ghana’s music veteran, Teddy Osei, the leader of the famous Osibisa group, an Afropop band created in 1969.
