Invite Movie Makers To Discuss The Way Forward – Juliet Ibrahim

Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim re-ignites the discussion about the movie industry.

Moreover, she asked the leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, to invite movie makers for a discussion.

Juliet spoke about this in an interview with Nana Adwoa Sarkordie of Citi TV. Also, she stated that it was wrong for Gabby to have judged Ghanaian movies with just 10 movies.

“It is unfortunate that he will generalize something like that because we don’t even know the movies he watched.

You can’t just put everyone into the same box because some of us are trying so hard.

The likes of Yvonne Nelson, Kafui Danku and the likes, we are all trying so hard to do movies that put Ghana on the global map”

Furthermore, Ibrahim added that the Hollywood comparison as distasteful.

“If you come making statement like that it makes us all look stupid, excuse me to say. You can’t compare us to Hollywood, how can you do that?

No one even compares Nollywood to Hollywood, you want us to be like them when we don’t have the support and equipment”

Therefore, she called on Gabby to invite the stakeholders and tell them what specifically is wrong with the movie industry, than lump all movie makers together as not impacting society.

“Invite us if possible and tell us that this is what you watched and this is how we can make it better.

We need more corporate bodies to invest in our industry to enable us get it back to where it was or better”

Selling Movies On CDs Will Kill The Industry – Kofi Asamoah

Ghanaian filmmaker, Kofi Asamoah talks about the relevance of CD’s and DVD’s.

Earlier in the week, there was a heated argument between two popular Ghanaian movie producers Socrate Sarfo and Kofi Asamoah. This was on Zylofon FM hosted by Sammy Flex.

Moreover, Mr. Sarfo advocates for the sales of movies on CDs. Also, he stated that he is ready to activate DVD sales on the street with his new movies.

However, Kofi Asamoah is of a different opinion. He stated that the already dying industry will continue to decline if movie producers go back to the selling of DVDs on the street.

He argued that

“I’m not against the selling of DVDs because it is part of the distribution system, but shooting a movie and selling them on CDs two weeks or months after release will kill the cinema industry”

“movie patrons will opt not to go to the cinemas, pay GHC30 to watch movies when released because they know they can wait for some two weeks and buy the CDs for GHC10…

I Don’t Know If The Clothes I Wear Are Original Or Fake – Coded of 4×4

It’s very essential for most celebrities to buy and wear nothing but the best of clothes made with authentic fabrics.

Most celebrities are very particular about the type of clothes they put on, especially with the brands.

But the case seems to differ with Coded of 4X4 music group fame.

Coded, known privately as Raphael Edem Avornyo has revealed that he does not even know if the clothes he wears are original or fake.

The singer and rapper, who appeared on the latest episode of ‘Celebrity Ride With Zionfelix’

stated that when it comes to the clothes he wears, he does not consider whether it is fake or

original, as he does not even know the difference between the two.

Coded added that he believes that he buys clothes and footwear that will suit a particular combination or dressing he wants to do and not the originality or fakeness of the particular cloth.

“…I don’t know what they call original or fake…for things I buy to wear on the body, I don’t look at them in that light… if a particular cloth will look good on me or better still it will go with my combination, that is why I look out for…” Coded stated.

When Zionfelix, the host of the show told Coded that based on the answer he gave above it means he usually wears fake clothing, the musician responded in the negative. Coded made the point that the way an individual rock his or her clothing is what matters and not the original or fake nature of it.

Coded also added that he may wear a fake clothing but the way he may rock it will not give any individual the indication that it is a fake and as such that it all that matters.

Meanwhile, Coded recently opened his new fitness center in Accra.

The shop is located at Spintex road opposite the Baatsona Total Filling station. ‘FitCode’ is the name of the shop. The shop has fully furnished ultra-modern equipment for all kinds of exercises.
