I Feel So Humbled – Stonebwoy After ‘Ashaiman To Da World’ Concert Success

Bhim Nation frontliner, Stonebowy says he is humbled by the huge success chalked by the

2018 edition of his Ashaiman to the World concert over the weekend.

According to him, after pulling an estimated 50,000 to once venue for the 2018 edition, he can

only be grateful.

The 5th edition of Ashaiman to the World concert came of last Saturday night.

Stonebowy, together with some big names in the music industry, successfully held this year’s

Ashaiman to the World concert.

The concert which was held at the Ashaiman Sakasaka Park saw impressive performances

from Sarkodie, Kwaw Kese, Edem, Epixode, Okomfo Kwadee, Guru, D-Black, Samini, Lilwin and a host of others.

Commenting on the success of the concert in an interview on Behind the Fame on Drive

Shatta Wale’s ‘Reign’ Album Launch Wasn’t Sold Out, It Was A ‘Free Event’ – Stonebwoy

The rivalry between dancehall acts, Stonebowy and Shatta Wale keeps increasing with each passing day.

Shatta Wale’s recently launched his third studio album with which he is still making headlines with.

The launch came with a big concert at the Fantasy Dome which saw over thousand patrons troop to witness the show.

Speaking about the concert however, Stonebowy has said that Shatta Wale’s Reign Album

launch where he was said to have pulled about 20,000+ fans to the Fantasy Dome was a free show.

Read:https://www.ghafla.co.ke/gh/its-true-stonebwoy-is-ungrateful-ephraim/

So he doesn’t see why they should say it was a sold-out show.

He disclosed this to Citi TV’s Nana Adwoa Sarkodie in an exclusive interview after his

recently held Ashiaman to the World concert at Ashaiman.

According to him, even though tickets were sold, he considers the show as a ‘free’ event

because most people did not pay to enter.

“I am not in competition with anybody but even if I was, you can see the difference. Because that [Shatta’s] show at the Fantasy Dome was free. People came from buses and got it for free. To me that was not a sold out event. This is also a free event but you see the numbers that we commanded. This is my hood; almost 50, 000 people,” he said.

Stonebwoy however quickly added that he isn’t in competition with any one. If not so, he wouldn’t have reached higher heights as he has attained presently. It’s rather unfortunate Stonebwoy has forgotten that even if Shatta Wale’s show was free, it was organized by one man.

Where as his Ashiaman concert had a whole lot of artistes present, so their fans were present to witness the event not necessarily because of him, Stonebwoy.

Radio presenter, Mercury Quaye talks about conduct of DJs. Lately, a lot of DJs in Ghana play the popular songs of musical acts billed to perform before the artist gets on stage.

Therefore, the award-winning DJ with Hitz FM added his two cents.

Blogger Zionfelix asked

“So when at all are our DJs going to stop this thing? They play all hit songs of an artist billed for the same show before the act comes on stage. Which songs do they expect the Musician to entertain the crowd with after their things?”

Merqury Quaye wrote:

“It is absolutely unprofessional. I have seen a number of DJs doing that probably because they did not have a grip on the ethics of the art. I educate those anytime I chance on them. There is an exception; a DJ can tease the audience with a couple of seconds of a song of a performing artiste.”

Hong Kong Newspaper Cites Wiyaala As Role Model

Ghanaian singer, Noella Wiyaala is obviously a global woman now considering what

the South China Morning Post has to say about her.

The South China Morning Post, published in Hong Kong, has cited the Ghanaian

singer as a role model for Chinese women to follow.

Luisa Tam, senior editor at the Post, wrote “Like Wiyaala, we must look deep inside ourselves

and find out what makes us special, and then own it and wear it proudly. That’s individuality,

and it’s cool to be one of a kind.”

The writer was commenting on women around the world who are shaking up society’s

traditional view of female beauty whilst singling out South Korea, where an increasing

number of women are joining the #EscapeTheCorset movement, the latest in a series

of feminist initiatives in the country since the #MeToo campaign.

Check:https://www.ghafla.co.ke/gh/09870-2/

She explains: “The movement aims to detox society of the many harmful ideals of what it means to be feminine, and beautiful. It encourages women to escape the corset of traditional beauty standards, and instead come to accept and be proud of who they are.”

In fulsome praise of Wiyaala’s tenacity and influence, Luisa added; “Ghanaian pop star Noella Wiyaala, the self-proclaimed “Lioness of Africa”, was rejected three times by a television talent show. The reason? The executives said she wasn’t “feminine” enough for their show.

In spite of this, she has repeatedly refused to conform to their traditional idea of what makes a woman beautiful. Rather than turn herself into another Beyoncé or Rihanna, she has kept her short hair and muscular body. Wiyaala said she “didn’t care” about what the executives thought, and preferred to be herself, and wear her short hair because she “feels cool”.

On her fourth attempt, she won in the show and is proud to be singing in her native Sissala language, and has spring boarded it into prominence, and on to the world stage.”
