Seeing Broke Veteran Musicians Scares Me – KiDi

Award-winning Highlife/Afrobeat musician, KiDi says he gets scared whenever he sees broke veteran musicians.

According to the ‘Odo’hitmaker, his fear is to end up broke in the future as he sees many

veteran musicians now broke any time he goes for events with his family.

“Sometimes when my family and my friends go out to see these veteran musicians and the way they are living now,

despite all the hit songs they released and the tours they did across the world, and seeing them like this today with no money,

some of them even ask for money to do their surgeries, it scares my family and they

ask if that is how I’m also going to end up, sometimes all these scare us,” he said.

He however advised his fellow musicians to invest while they are making money because good times do not last forever.

“I won’t blame Ghanaians that they don’t treat the industry people well, sometimes I feel like there is a hail period for every artiste to make money,

and, so, we should try to invest our money so that in the future if the money is not coming like the way it used to, we’ll still have something to work with,” he advised.

KiDi was speaking in an interview with Bismarck Boachie (DJ Premier) on Entertainment

Capital on Accra100.5FM on Saturday, 22 September 2018.

makes him the greatest black man to ever live.

“You have to understand that this is a man who had a vision; some of his quotes, unselfish quotes, because if a man is able to steer his people to gain independence and he says that’s not enough,

then it means that the entire continent’s got to be free and independent then you have to realise his visionary spirit, it affected everybody; sometimes his exploits and stature is downplayed but I can tell you that there’s no black person bigger than Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah”.

from all the stars that we have and is Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, there is no argument about that.”

He added that: “He was able to affect everybody including those in the diaspora because he is not just an African,

he’s a black man of the whole continent and he spurred a lot of people on to achieve….

“Nkrumah is not a politician, he was a leader even though he used the vehicle of politics to get to where he was, he was born a leader to lead the entire continent,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the highlife legend has also commended musician Sedi Adayi on the acoustic version of his ‘Dede’ track.

Kidi on dating and relationships

“I am single but I am not ready to mingle.’’

Also, he was truthful that he was not a virgin but failed to disclose the last time he had sex.

He gave his reasons for his discipline because women had a desire to just get closer to him.

Some women love you for your songs. Others may also have different reasons for drawing closer to you and so; you would have to be disciplined in order not to do anything silly. It is not every woman who means well when they are closer to you.

Musicians Entertain But Are Lonely – KiDi

Highlife and afrobeat artiste, KiDi, says although musicians per their job description

are entertainers, they are mostly lonely after leaving the stage.

According to him, musicians like himself keep asking: “Who is there to save the savior?”

because in his view, musicians lose friends as they become more successful in the industry.

KiDi, born Dennis Nana Dwamena was speaking in an interview with Bismarck

Boachie (DJ Premier) on Entertainment Capital on Accra100.5FM on Saturday.

He noted that;

“The reality of the whole thing is, as you climb up you lose friends.  It’s not supposed to be so but that is what it is, as God blesses you and the blessing takes you higher you lose your friends.

I wish that we all go up together but sometimes because of your busy schedule, you don’t even get time to hang out with your friends.

Some of them understand that this is what is happening so we have to adapt, but some also feel like you still have to have time for them.”

He continued: “It is very difficult to make people happy but when you are able to do that, you get home and it’s you alone, nobody entertains us, that is why we watch movies, we feel sad most of the time.”

The ‘Thunder’ hitmaker lamented that cyberbullying worsens the situation for them.

CHECK:https://www.ghafla.co.ke/gh/kidi-drops-visuals-for-his-latest-song-thunder/

According to him, musicians are humans, too, and the insults thrown at them on social media add to their sorrow.

“What makes it worse is the internet bullying because after all the work you have done as an artiste hoping to make people happy…

and you go back to sit alone trying to find your small happiness but go on the internet and people are constantly insulting you, we get worried.

Most of the time, we let go but sometimes, too, we are humans and some of these things get to us, so, people need to know that musicians are not robots, they are not God and, so, they need to give musicians that respect.”

We Need More Tourism Education – Abeiku Santana

Radio and television personality, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey popularly known as Abeiku Santana stresses on tourism. According to him, it is necesary to intensify education on tourism in the country.

He stated that his interactions with people show that the only thing Ghanaians know when it comes to tourism is the leisure and entertainment aspects.

Abeiku Santana on tourism and its importance

“I have been around for long. People actually think that I just started. However, I have been in this for like a decade and it saddens my heart that when you mention tourism here, the only thing people are familiar with is the entertainment and leisure side.

“Yes that is one part of it but what about aviation, what about telecommunications etc. There is a lot of work to be done, we need to do a lot of education on tourism, we do not understand it all”

“Another observation that I want to throw light on is the transport aspect of tourism. It is like we do not know that transport also plays a role in getting tourism in Ghana on the map”

“Here, drivers do not know that they are the first point of call whenever a visitor steps out of the airport.

“Some of them do not know about customer service, they do not know what return purchase is about, there is no complimentary card, they will not even talk to you.

“But in other countries, the drivers engage you. Some will ask what type of song you want. Also, if you have a flash drive if the car has a slot.

“They will tell you about their music, popular places, they give you their complimentary cards etc. This is what I am talking about. The bottom line is that, we need to do more education here and take tourism seriously.”

I Can’t Shut Up – Stonebwoy On Feud With Shatta Wale

Things keep getting more ugly and complicated between Stonebowy and his arch-rival Shatta Wale almost with each passing day.

Both artistes don’t seize to ‘bark’ at each other whenever they’re giving the least opportunity.

Many fans of both artistes have on several occasions called on their icons to bury the hatchet and even collaborate on a song.

Though there are hints of them fulfilling this wish by their fans, their feud still lingers on.

This is because Stonebwoy has disclosed to Showbiz that he cannot just shut up when Shatta

Wale keeps attacking him and makes false statements against him.

“A lot of people have personally told me not to descend into the gutters with Shatta Wale but the issue is I can’t allow him to go ahead to do that to my brand.

“There is a saying that ‘when a mad man comes for your clothes in your bathroom you don’t run after him naked’ but if the mad man continually keeps coming for your clothes anytime you are in the bathroom, you need to find a solution and that is what I am doing” he said.

According to the ‘Dirty Enemies’ hitmaker, he will not allow anyone to take advantage of his

calmness and tarnish his brand he has built over the years.

“I have been through a lot to get the brand to where it is now and I will not just sit and allow anyone to put it into disrepute,” he revealed.

He explained that although people see him as a calm person, he can really go crazy.

“I am the coolest person but you don’t want to see my other side. I can be rough but I normally hide that aspect of me,” he said.

Asked whether the dispute between him and Shatta Wale isn’t just a hype, Stonebwoy said he

doesn’t need hype because he never built his music on that.

According to him, hard work and perseverance is what has brought him to where he is now and not hype.

“Almost all the songs on the album became a hit and I am glad Ghanaians liked it. I will be dropping the video of Most Original featuring Sean Paul and it is massive,” he said.
