Young Ghanaian Artistes Refused To Attend Jewel Ackah’s Funeral — Gyedu-Blay Ambolley

Highlife legend, Gyedu Blay Ambolley expresses his displeasure at the young crop of musicians again.

Moreover, his displeasure stems from the fact that the young crop of musicians refuse to attend the funerals of older artistes. However, they jump in their numbers to attend funerals of younger artistes.

Furthermore, Ambolley made these same complaints during the funerals of Paapa Nyankson and CK Mann’s funeral.

He made his sentiments when speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz.

Gyedu Blay-Ambolley on young musicians not attending Jewel Ackah’s funeral

“It does not sit right to have a funeral of such a big legend and not see the young generation of musicians around.

“Jewel Ackah for so many years, entertained people in their homes, cars, offices, markets and everywhere. So if that person who gave us that sort of entertainment is no more, the least we can do is to accord him our last respect by showing up at his funeral.

“Ghana belongs to all of us and each one of us contributes in one way or the other. We don’t have to wait for one person to die before eulogising him or her.

“We need to sit up as a people. If we do not come together and forge ahead as a team, we will remain divided.”

Stonebowy Reveals Why He And Shatta Wale Can Never Become  Friends(VIDEO)

Two prominent household names in Ghana when it comes to dancehall music are Shatta Wale and Stonebowy.

Both artistes have risen and raised the flag of Ghana high in their genre of music for years now. That notwithstanding, both artistes are known to be enthusiastic rivals, something some industry players believe is good for showbiz.

Meanwhile, some fans of both artistes have called on them to make peace and bring out a collaboration.

Many Ghanaians describe Stonebowy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla as the calm type who would often choose to ignore controversies.

His nemesis, Shatta Wale, Born Charles Nii Armah, on the other hand has been described by many as the opposite of Stonebowy.

Shatta, according to many is the controversial type and a ‘bully’ who wouldn’t spare anyone who dares to step on his toes.

Stonebowy however believes that their character sets them apart. As a result, he and the ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker can never be friends.

Speaking to SVTV Africa, Stonebwoy explained that although he has no grudge against Shatta wale he prefers to stick to himself rather than mingle with someone who badmouths him.

He maintained that, he and Shatta cannot be friends because they both have opposite mindsets and characters.

The ‘Bawasaba’ hitmaker was however, quick to add that he has nothing against Shatta Wale although they can’t be friends.

“If we are to collaborate and make music that’s fine but for us to be friends is not possible.  I don’t go around talking anyhow so I can’t mingle with people who behave as such.”

I Stopped Music Years Before Selling Bread – Da Hammer

Hammer of The Last Two fame has a new-found love for bread selling.

After many years of making beats for musicians, He has put his music producing career on hold for a while to pursue his new passion of baking with the A1 Bakery.

He spoke about this in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb. The CEO of The Last Two Music Group, Edward Nana Poku Osei revealed that

“I left the music scene ages ago, I stopped producing music in 2010, and I haven’t produced any song till now.”

Therefore, Da Hammer partnered the owner of popular A1 bread, Godfred Obeng Boateng. He stated that he was involved in other businesses before venturing into bread selling recently.

According to Hammer, it will be better to invest in other businesses than to rely on just music. This is because the music industry doesn’t really make much money as people perceive.

Enthused about his new business, Hammer said A1 Bread fetches him more money than music.

“I make more money by selling A1 bread more than I do in music”

Moreover, he advised the artistes and the youth to ditch their fears and pursue any venture they believe. However, this is better than waiting on a hit song to survive.

Bullet Blasts Vim Lady For ‘Attacking’ Wendy Shay

RuffTown Records boss, Ricky Nana Agyemang, better known as Bullet, has descended on Adom Fm’s Afia Pokua for disrespecting his artiste Wendy Shay.

Bullet’s reaction follows Afia Pokua, aka Vim Lady’s comments a few days ago.

The On-air personality had blasted Wendy Shay for dragging the name of Ghana’s president Nana Addo into disrepute by mentioning him in her single ‘uber driver’.

The ‘Uber Driver’ hitmaker  had recently paid a courtesy call on ppresident Akufo Addo.

She later shared a photo of her visit to the president on her official Instagram page with the caption;

“Great meeting with chief Uber Driver of Ghana?? #even Nana Addo nso p3hw3?? #ruifftownrecords #wendyshayto the world #teamshay #presidentofGhana #teamGhana #ghnanatotheworld”

Wendy, also indicated in a recent interview that the purpose of her meeting with Akuffo-Adfo was to present her single (Uber Driver) to him.

She further described the president, Akuffo-Addo as the “The Chief Uber Driver”.  Meaning, he can’t stop staring at ladies ass in reference to the lyrics of the “Uber Driver” song.

But to Vim Lady, the two former presidents, J.A Kufuor and John Mahama are people we hold in high esteem. Not to talk of the sitting president Nana Addo.

Hence, she believes that including their names in Wendy’s lyrics was disrespectful.

Bullet on the other hand sees nothing wrong with Wendy’s song nor her utterances. He therefore jumped to the defense of his artiste.

In a Facebook post he questioned if the radio presenter’s criticism of his artiste meeting the president was out of envy or jealousy?

He continued to question if his artiste, Wendy shay is not a Ghanaian or doesn’t have the right as a Ghanaian to visit the president.

Bullet then described the presenter’s criticisms of his artiste as that of an old woman who wants to bring down a young woman who is doing something good.

He posted;

“Afua pokuaa vim lady of adom FM,is it envy or jealousy?is Wendy shay not a Ghanaian and doesn’t she have the right as a Ghanaian to visit the president ?old women always want to bring young women who are doing something good down and it’s very sad.

Do you want to tell me musicians are not qualified to visit the president?

Patapaa Holds Clean Up Exercise In Agona Swedru (PHOTOS)

Hiplife artiste, Patapaa Amisty(Patapeezy) over the weekend organized a clean-up exercise in his hometown, Agona Swedru.

According to the ‘One Corner’ hitmaker, this act is little way of showing his appreciation to his community for all their support for his career.

It would be recalled that the entire popularity of ‘One Corner’ can be traced to a festival in Agona.

There, people danced crazily to the song and the legend of the ‘One Corner’ dance was born.

From then on Patapaa has built an entire career out of the viral popularity ‘One Corner’ brought him.

Some celebrities were also at the exercise to help out their brother.

Article Wan, Sumsum and some other Swedru based stars all turned up to aid Patapaa in his cause.

Check out photos from the event below!
