I’ll Never Attend Kojo Antwi’s Concerts – Kofi Kapito

The Chief Executive Officer of the Consumer Protection Agency, Kofi Kapito, has emphatically stated he will never attend any of Kojo Antwi’s concerts.

According to Mr. Kapito, most event organizers in Ghana have refused to respect time.

He recounted how he once attended a concert by ‘The Maestro’ and how he failed to show up on time to perform to the audience who had sat in the auditorium for hours.

As a result, he vowed never to attend any concert or show headed by the legendary musician ever again.

Mr. Kapito, was speaking in an interview on Onua FM’s Anigye Mmre.

His effusion comes in the wake of concerns that the media and Ghanaians, in general, are fond of promoting irresponsible acts, thus contributing to the reason why they keep repeating themselves.

“We can’t repeat doing the same thing and expect different results,” he stated.

“I can’t spend 4 hours waiting for Kojo Antwi to perform. Kojo Antwi is a good friend of mine but I will never attend any of his concerts. He is a good musician but I will never attend his concerts because he doesn’t show up on time. Why should I go to a concert and expect Kojo Antwi to appear at 1am? Don’t I have anything better doing?”

He however applauded the CEO of Roverman Productions and author, Uncle Ebo Whyte, for being someone who starts his events on time, advising others to do same.

Bullet Didn’t Tell Me About Ebony’s Foundation — Nana Opoku Kwarteng

The late Ebony’s father, Nana Opoku Kwarteng gives fresh interviews. This time his beef is with his daughter’s former manager Bullet.

Furthermore, according to Mr Kwarteng, Ebony’s tribute concert organized by Bullet made huge profits. However, he only got Ghc 2,000.

Also, according to Ebony’s dad Bullet received Ghc 90,000 for the concert and funeral from Kasapreko. Therefore, after everything had been done the profit left over was Ghc 39,999.

However, according to Mr Kwarteng he only saw Ghc 2,000 of that money. He made these statements on Adom FM over the weekend

Mr Opoku Kwarteng about Bullet and money he received

“The funds they raised, I was only told so I demanded accountability. I also wanted to be sure because rumours had it that Kasapreko had given me GHC90,000 for the concert and funeral, which they announced. So I approached Kasapreko for clarification if they have given me that amount of money, which I didn’t know of.

“From the concert, all I know is after the deductions that were made by Kasapreko I was showed a photocopy of a cheque worth Ghc 39,999.”

“But Bullet brought me Ghc2,000. I have made my life, I have my own money my daughter’s money won’t add up to mine.”

Also, he stated that Bullet didn’t tell him about Ebony’s foundation. Therefore, he is blind about what is happening.

You Don’t Always Need A Contract To Promote An Event — Trigmatic

Trigmatic dispenses wisdom to artistes.

Ghanaian musician and songwriter, Trigmatic states that it’s a must for an artiste to get himself or herself involved in promotional works ahead of events.

He made these statements while speaking in an interview on Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda with Sammy Flex. Furthermore,  the rapper disclosed that, it’s very advantageous for an artiste to partake in promotional works.

Also, he advised promoters and artiste managers to discuss the benefits their artistes gain after staging an event.

Trigmatic talks about contracts and musicians

“Promoters need to sit with their artistes and their managers to discuss, the returns artistes gain from promoting an event. This is because, at the long run, they are not mandated to do so without a contract.”

Shatta Michy Reveals She Once Dyed Her Hair And Lied About Her Own Identity In Order To Land A Job

Michy describes one of her experiences of fame.

Shatta Wale’s baby mother, Michelle Diamond Gbagonah aka Shatta Michy stated that she lied about who she was for a job interview.

Furthermore, she stated that the night before her interview she performed with Shatta with red hair at Ghana Meets Naija. However, she dyed her hair black then when she appeared at the interview. Also, she pretended not to be in showbiz.

She narrated what happened to Graphic Showbiz.

Shatta Michy about dying hair black and lying at job interview

“I remember at Ghana Meets Naija in 2016, I had an interview the Monday after the event for a cabin crew job. Then I came showing things on stage, with my hair dyed red like that.

“So on Monday, I went before the panel which was the final stage. They asked me if I was into showbiz because they wanted to know how I was going to juggle the two as both industries are really demanding. I tried denying. The truth is that I did not go with the red hair, I dyed it back to its black colour.

“As I kept denying, one of the panellists just showed me a newspaper with me in my Ghana Meets Naija outfit. After, here I was dumbfounded. I could have gotten the job easier because the people realised that I was good at what I wanted to do, I am actually trained in that. So yes, being in the entertainment fraternity has helped but I have had its downside too,”

This follows the actress’ public display of anger towards organizers of the awards scheme months after serving as host for this year’s awards.

Miss Dumas on July 4 took to her Twitter handle to vent her spleen claiming that 3 Music Awards has still not honored their end of the bargain after she undisputedly delivered nicely at the event.

“Dear @3musicAwards when you hire the service of a talent and you agree on a payment, you honor your end of the bargain as I honored mine…. no one works for free,” she tweeted.

In a recent tweet however, Joselyn has made it known that the issue has been settled amicably.

It is therefore believed that, she has been paid what is due her.

Male Artists Get Free Help But As A Female You’re Always Bombarded For Sex In Exchange For Help — Feli Nuna

Feli Nuna talks about the sexual assault against women rampant in the Ghanaian music industry.

Furthermore,  the artiste complained that males in the industry are given help when they need it. However, if you’re a woman every man who helps you expects sex in return. She made these statements to SVTV Africa.

Feli Nuna about men demanding for sex before help

“I’ve faced the challenge before in the past when I was coming up. Although I didn’t give in but that’s the major reason why female musicians are unable to compete with the men. Male artistes get free help but same thing can’t be said about the female acts.”

She said aside this huge sexual assault challenge the industry is male dominated and biased towards males and their music.

“We [women] don’t get a lot of airplay and promo as compared to the men.”

Five (5) Things Wives Should Know About Mistresses

Quite often people talk about mistresses with disgust. But let’s be clear, there’s never a good excuse for engaging in an affair with someone who is married. But it does happen.

Mistresses are just like any other woman in the world. They don’t necessarily need to be vilified.

And at the end of the day, women who become mistresses or “the other woman” are our daughters, sisters, aunts, mothers, wives, and neighbors.

1. She probably never planned on being a mistress.

Every adult is accountable for their own actions. Of that there is no doubt. Unfortunately, sometimes circumstances and poor decisions can lead to affairs.

It’s not likely on the goal list of any woman to get wrapped up in an affair with a married man and potentially lose her career, credibility, friends, or — in some extreme cases — her life because of it. Not to mention, some women who have affairs are also married and have families of their own that they are jeopardizing by getting involved in an affair.

Many women end up being the other woman by having a “fling” with a man with whom they never intended on being with on a regular basis. They may or may not have known the man was married, but they went ahead anyway, later ending up infatuated or in love.

There are women out there who don’t have a problem dating married men and seem to have little regret about it, but generally speaking, this is not usually the case.

Many times, a husband will make promises that can string a mistress along until so much time passes that it becomes difficult for her to break it off. A husband may even go so far as to tell the mistress he’s separated or in the process of a divorce when this is not the case. If a mistress is in love, she may not want to end it, even if she knows it’s wrong.

2. She Feels Guilty

Yes, believe it or not, a mistress does feel guilt. If she is aware of the fact that her lover is married, she goes through all the normal emotions associated with guilt on a daily basis, such as sadness and depression.

A mistress feels guilty when her lover chooses to spend time with her on a weekend, knowing there is a wife and possibly children waiting at home. She feels guilty when she hears other people talk about cheating spouses. She feels guilty when she watches movies about adultery.

Guilt is the permanent ghost that accompanies a mistress throughout the entire affair and afterward.

That said, many mistresses are totally unaware that their lover is married. Many men go to great lengths to hide the fact that they are married. If a husband can have an affair and betray the woman he married, then he is capable of telling multiple lies, both to the wife and mistress.

Bottom Line: Unless a woman is a sociopath, she feels guilty for crossing the line, just like any normal human being would.

3. She gets jealous

If a woman has become a mistress and she knows that her lover is married, then most certainly she feels jealous. She feels jealous every time he walks out the door. Surely, she knows he is going home to another woman. She knows her lover has another life at his home which she will never be a part of.

Unless she has a family of her own, a mistress’s life is usually pretty lonely, emphasized by the fact that her heart probably sinks just thinking of what her lover is doing at home with his wife and family. She feels jealous that he shares a bed with his wife and will never know the true level of intimacy that’s going on despite what she’s been told.

Some mistresses even have children with their married lovers. Imagine what a complicated web that must be.

There’s no doubt that a mistress feels envious that her lover’s relationship with his wife is not a secret to the world like hers most likely is. One thing that many mistresses crave more than anything is validation that her relationship with her lover is real. Sneaking around in secrecy is not the ideal for having a healthy, long-term relationship.

A mistress, like any other woman, wants her lover to be proud of her, to tell their friends about her, and for them to have the desire to tell the whole world how much they love her.

4. She fell in love with the wrong person

Well, this is a no-brainer, but unfortunately, love and lust are blind. A woman who ignores repeated red flags because of love or lust will eventually find out she has picked the wrong person to be with.

A mistress is bound to come to this realization sooner or later. She may choose to stay in the affair long after she’s realized her mistake for any number of reasons including denial, fear, and, of course, love.

Falling for the wrong person happens to all of us. It happens to single women dating single men. It happens to women who fall in love with married men. And ithappens to the wife of a husband who is having an affair. It happens to same-sex couples as well.

The point is, most likely the mistress already knows she has made a huge mistake and only stays in the affair because she thinks her lover wants to be with her. Of course, some women may not be that emotionally attached to their lovers, but I would guess that most are, especially in long-term affairs that carry on for years.

5. She may believe there’s a future

How many women fall for a man and believe most of what he says? We’ve all done it at some point or another. If a woman knows her lover is married or found out at some point after she already fell for him, then there is no doubt she has been sweet-talked and promised to hundreds of times.

It’s fairly common for a cheating husband to tell his mistress that he is miserable in his marriage and wants to get out. This may or may not be true, but whether or not he does get out of the marriage, is another thing. If there are children involved or if the husband does truly want to be with his wife, then he won’t make the steps to leave the marriage

A mistress has already placed herself in a vulnerable position, so if she is in love with the man she is having the affair with, she will make excuses for him, and probably suffers from deep denial. It may take months or even years for a mistress to realize that a man is not going to leave his wife for her. If he was, he would have done it sooner than later.

Hanging on to an affair in hopes that a man will leave his wife is something many mistresses do, and if there are years that pass by, she becomes more invested in the relationship, and also more comfortable within the lie. The affair becomes her normal. The secrecy becomes her normal, and in many cases, she will self-medicate or behave destructively to alleviate the guilt and shame.

Being the mistress is not glamorous. An affair may start out as a thrilling, romantic whirlwind, but it almost always ends up a depressing, disheartening situation.

I’m Talented And Versatile Than All Ghanaian Artistes — Edem

Ghanaian rapper, Edem brags that no Ghanaian rapper can rub shoulders with him when it comes to music and talent. Moreover, he explained that he was a very versatile artiste.

He made these statements in an interview with Radio Central’s Amansan Krakye.

Edem on versatility and the music industry in Ghana

“I’m not trying to move, I’m doing what I’m capable of. Every other artiste who is a rapper and could sing would do like Edem but they can’t that’s why they don’t do it, and I can that’s why I do it”.

Furthermore, he continued that he sees no Ghanaian rapper or Dancehall artiste who can sing and rap like he does.

“So it’s not about moving it’s the fact that I can do it and I’m capable and I’m that talented. No dancehall artiste can rap but I did ‘Go Harder‘, no rapper can sing but I did ‘Ghetto Arise‘ so it’s a fact that the talent is on that level and I’m exhibiting it”

Don’t Marry Without Seeing A Counselor – Ebo Whyte

Prolific author, James Ebo Whyte, popularly known as Uncle Ebo Whyte has urged persons planning on getting married not to do so without pre-marital counselling sessions.

According to the CEO of Roverman Production, counselors don’t teach people about how to marry. However, they serve as persons we can call on when there are problems in the marriage.

Hence, his advise to all those who are planning to walk down the aisle.

“The counselor is not going to teach you how to marry but he becomes somebody who you could go back to, to call both of you to order. So, when you go for counselling you’ve held yourself accountable to somebody.” He said, defining the role of the counselor before and during marriage.

The esteemed playwright and marriage counsellor also advised people in abusive relationships to “run” before it’s too late, adding that, ‘you don’t need to take it”.

According to him, once you notice your partner has a violent temper in the early stages, call his or her attention to it and call it off if the person is not able to deal with it.

He also added that people shouldn’t be afraid to end relationships as that is not marriage.

“Unfortunately, we tend to have this tendency in Ghana here that once a relationship begins we don’t think its an option to call it off, we don’t realise that when we are dating we haven’t as yet married. So, at any point in the dating, I can decide that you are not quite who I thought you were…so let’s go our separate ways,” he noted.

Uncle Ebo revealed that for the 10th year anniversary of Roverman, he will stage a one-man comedy show this September.

This, he said is to introduce Ghanaians to a side of him most people don’t know about.
