World Choir Games: Ghana’s Harmonious Chorale Emerge Winners

The Harmonious Chorale emerged the best choir at the 2018 World Choir Games in Pretoria, South Africa.

Furthermore, the choir won the newly created category C28 during the second awards ceremony. It was at the Moreleta Park Church. This is an Open Repertoire at the championship level of the World Choir Games.

At the first awards ceremony held at the Sun Arena, Harmonious Chorale Ghana picked up three gold diplomas. Moreover, they emerged as the overall winner in one of the categories from the open competition.

This accolade by Harmonious Chorale at the championship level made Ghana proud. This is because after they won the National Anthem was played in honour of the achievement.

Under the directorship of James Varrick Armaah, Harmonious Chorale presented a 52 man team made up of 44 singers, 4 keyboardists, 2 trumpeters and a Sound Engineer, Dominic Ansa-Asare of MiDo Productions.

The World Choir Games organized by Interkultur is the largest choral event in the world. Furthermore, the idea based on the Olympic Games ideals. It aims to peacefully unify people and nations connected by songs in a fair competition.

The 10th edition of the competition took place in Tshwane, South Africa. This is the very first time the event has been held in Africa. A total of 300 choirs from over 60 countries participated the World Choir Games 2018.

Harmonious Chorale Ghana is the resident choir of Salt and light Music Ministry headed by Rev. Dr. Joyce R. Aryee.

Ghanaian Celebrities Pay Last Respect To CK Mann

Funeral rights for veteran Ghanaian singer, C.K Mann happened over the weekend. Furthermore, his death happened on 20th March 2018 at GHAPOHA hospital in Takoradi.

Moreover, before the funeral on 14th July, there was a vigil on Friday 13 July at the Jubilee Park in Takoradi. This vigil was in remembrance of the great Fante Musician.

There were a lot of musicians at the funeral. Furthermore, there were veteran musicians and colleagues of the late singer such as Pat Thomas, Paulina Oduro, Ben Brako, Rex Omar and Augustina Addison. They were there in their numbers to pay their last respect to C.K Mann.

Also, the young crop of musicians were there in their numbers to pay their last respect to the great veteran singer. Among such young musicians were Kofi Kinaata, Nero X, Ayesem, and others.

Other stars such as Mr Beautiful was also spotted at the Funeral.

I Don’t Understand Ghana’s Music System – Guru

Guru speaks about the music industry.

Ghanaian rapper and fashion designer, Maradona Yeboah Adjei known in the showbiz industry as Guru says that he doesn’t understand the music system in Ghana.

Furthermore, he made these statements while speaking in an interview with Grandmaster Nii Ayi Tagoe on the Morning Zoo. Moreover, he said he does not understand the whole system within the music industry.

According to him, he does not see himself as a big boy in the industry. This is because he is still learning the ropes.

Also, in the interview, the rapper advised musicians not to ignore prophecies about their lives. He added that they should pray to prophets to intercede for them to save their career.

My Songs Can Be Classified As Highlife ‘Asorkpor’ – Patapaa

Swedru-based and “One corner” hitmaker, Patapeezy reveals the type of music genre he does.

Furthermore, after his song, Ghanaians wondered on the kind of music genre he falls under. Moreover, this is after he said that he is a highlife artiste. However, the kind of music he does are all not high life.

He clarified his music genre in an interview with Angel TV. Furthermore, he revealed that his songs are all high life asorkpor. According to him, before he became a household name, he had recorded several songs but all couldn’t get him into the limelight until he dropped “One Corner”.

“One Corner was an experiment of fusing Hiplife with traditional dance music. I showed the song to a few people and they encouraged me to continue on that path rather than the highlife and surprisingly it worked out.”

GUBA 2018 — Full List Of Winners

The 2018 edition of the annual Ghana UK-Based Awards(GUBA) came off at the InterContinental Hotel in Greenwich on Saturday July 14.

GUBA is an annual awards ceremony based in Britain. Moreover, it recognizes the “hugely significant” contribution that British-Ghanaians make to society.

Some of the big winners for the night include UK-based musicians Stormzy and Michel Dapaah (Big Shaq).

Others however are, veteran Ghanaian broadcaster, Kwame Sefa Kayi, Eric Andoh, to mention a few.

Furthermore, the event had as special guest of honour, former president of Ghana, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings.

It was however compered by Anita Erskine, and actor Boris Kodjoe.

As usual, it was also graced by the foremost Ghanaian names across the diaspora.

The awards was first launched in 2010. The annual event however celebrates and acknowledges the contribution of Ghanaian and African based businesses and individuals in the United Kingdom.

Following its success, it expanded into the GUBA Foundation, GUBA Expo and GUBA Careers to provide distinct services targeted at individuals and businesses.

Celebrated broadcaster, Gifty Anti states that she would gladly kneel before her husband any day and anywhere.

Furthermore, last year, a picture surfaced on social media. In the picture, it showed the popular broadcaster seemingly kneeling at the feet of her husband, Nana Ansah Kwao while warmly hugging the legs of the husband. Moreover, this picture caused a lot of controversy on the internet.

However, she reacted to the picture again. Oheneyere revealed she would gladly do again and it could happen anywhere.

According to her, if she offends her husband, or even wants to say thank you for a kind gesture shown to her by her husband she would kneel to do that since doing that doesn’t and wouldn’t change anything about her.

Ebony Leads Nominations For 2018 Ghana Music Awards UK

Organizers for the Ghana Music Awards have released the full list of nominees for the 2018 edition of the event.

The list sees some Ghanaian artistes making it to the various categories of the awards.

Some of these artistes include; Stonebowy, Kuami Eugene, Fancy Gadam, Stonebowy, Samini among others.

Leading the pack of nominees however is the late dancehall diva, Ebony Reigns.

Some of her nominations include Gospel Song of the Year, Highlife Song of the Year , Reggae / Dancehall Artiste of the Year and many others. She is also in for the ultimate award, the Artiste of the Year.

The 2018 Ghana Music Awards UK will come off on 6th October, 2018.

Venue for the event is the Gaumont Palace (Dominion Centre) Wood Green, London.

Akoo Nana Gifts 50 Artistes Zylofon Cash Cards

Afrobeats musician and Agrohene of Kasoa, Akoo Nana, has given 50 Zylofon Cash access cards to resident in the area.

The cards are meant to enable the residents monetize their works.

This comes few days after Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of Zylofon Media paid a visit to Kasoa.

The visit, however forms part of Nana Appiah’s quest to create a million jobs in the municipality.

He has therefore promised to establish factories that would specialize in building, shoe-making, bead-making and producing textiles.

Addressing the residents, Akoo Nana, real name William Ato Ankrah urged all to market their contents and support Nana Appiah to succeed.

Akoo Nana assured them of “better things to happen”, recalling a pledge NAM1 made to empower him through the Zylofon Arts Fund to boost entertainment at Kasoa during his visit.

Gospel Songs Of Today Have No Value – Kofi Abraham

Veteran gospel artiste, Professor Kofi Abraham spoke about modern gospel music. Furthermore, he disclosed this in an interview. Moreover, he stated that most of the current gospel songs are of no value. This is because they are characterized by a lot of noise.

According to him, gospel songs must carry spiritual power to be able to transform lives and make positive impacts in society.

He made these statements in an interview on Hitz FM.

Furthermore, he said that some of the gospel artists do music and consider the business aspect of it. However, they do not consider to win souls for God.

Also, he fumed at how some of the modern gospel artistes wail and shout in their songs in a bid to get people’s attention rather than listen to advice given them by people like him; the reason for making one-time hits at best.

He further noted that it is important for gospel artiste to be guided and rooted in the word of God and back their music with the spirit of God.

Canada-Based Gospel Musician Minister Ike To Drop Video Of ‘My Praise’ Song

Fast rising Canada-based Ghanaian Gospel artiste, Minister Ike is set to release about a thousand dollar worth visuals for his new music.

The video for his latest song titled ‘My Praise’ was shot at various exotic locations in Canada.

The shoot involves a helicopter, private plane, limited edition of BMW X5 among other amenities.

It also includes a bevy of beautiful women to grace the video.

Multiple award-winning musician said in an interview that his ministry was growing and God deserves the best.

Hence, it was necessary in making an appealing music video for the mass audience.

“It’s always good to insist on quality,” he said.

He added, “However, quality is expensive but for you to have something that people will love, you must invest without fear and leave the rest for God.”

Minister Ike has received over thirteen international awards with hit songs such as ‘Nagode’, ‘Mighty God’, ‘Onyame Gya’ and more.

He further said he has other few new singles lined up in the near future.

The release of the music video makes it competitive enough for the international market and further spreads Ike’s gospel messages.

Minister Ike’s music classic video will definitely have plaudits from music and entertainment pundits. He is known for investing in his music videos.

Fancy Gadam Pays Tribute To Tamale Accident Victims With ‘Prayer'(AUDIO)

Northern Region-based artiste, Fancy Gadam is still grieving over the death of his fans in an accident weeks ago.

Some fans of the artiste lost their lives in a gory accident on June 29.

In memory of the deceased fans, Fancy Gadam has released a new single titled ‘Prayer’.

He expresses how he feels about the loss in this song and Stone B Records takes the production credit.

The artwork of the song however shows a tear trickling down the eye of the artiste.

The deceased fans, including two workers of Zylofon Media were heading to the airport. They were on their way to welcome Nigerian artiste, Patoranking, a co-headliner of the concert which was scheduled for the Tamale Sports Stadium.

“My heart is heavy right now, words can’t describe how I feel. I am sorry to announce to you that my show with Patoranking scheduled to come off tomorrow has been postponed indefinitely… I can’t lose my fans and still have the heart to stage a show.” Read a statement posted by Gadam on Social Media following the decision to cancel the concert after the accident.

Meanwhile, Gadam won the 2018 VGMAs’ Most Popular Song of the Year’ for his song ‘Total Cheat’ featuring Sarkodie.

A Mallam Requested For My Pubic Hair To Help Me Produce Hit Songs – eShun

Fast-rising artiste, eShun has disclosed that a mallam asked for hair on her v*gina to make her produce a hit song.

There are several rumors and some publications that some artistes seek for help from Mallam in order to help them produce hit songs.

Nonetheless, most artistes have vehemently denied knowledge of such things.

However, according to eShun, she was contacted by a mallam to help her produce a hit song but she denied the offer.

The artiste who revealed this in an interview on Hitz FM indicated that the mallam requested for hair from her private part.

“He requested for my pubic hair to help me produce a hit song. He said he has helped some of my colleagues in the past and he can help me but I was not interested in his offer so I didn’t take it,” she said.

I’m Not Cheating On My Wife – Flowking Stone Debunks Rumors

Award-winning rapper and songwriter, Kwaku Nsiah Boamah popularly known Flowking Stone has debunked speculations suggesting he’s having extra marital affair.

It has been highly rumored that the Kumasi-based rapper is cheating on his wife, Bridget.

The rumors however hightened when he was recently spotted at public places without his wedding ring on.
