Hit Songs Don’t Equal Relevance – Cwesi Oteng

Cwesi Oteng shares his thoughts on music.

Gospel artiste, Cwesi Oteng says hit songs are forgettable. Furthermore, last year he released Next In Line and a couple of songs. However, they didn’t make much impact. Interestingly, Cwesi Oteng said he is not perturbed. Moreover, in his opinion hit songs don’t define an artiste’s relevance and success. He made these statements on Showbiz.

Cwesi Oteng on hit songs and relevance

“The purpose of any artiste is not to make hits for people to sing and dance to and then the next moment, they just forget about it.

Obviously, that should not be the way of any worthy artiste. Till now, there are timeless songs that people appreciate which may not necessarily be hits at the time.

This is what I’m working at and that is why I have been low key for a while so it’s not that I’ve lost out of the game. I want my songs to be appreciated even when I’m not alive.

The likes of Michael Jackson and Obrafour are still enjoying prominence. That is why I choose relevance and purpose over popularity.”

Four Ghanaian Female Celebrities Who Are Older Than Their Spouses

It seems the stigma of’a man must be older than his wife’ is gradually fading. These days, women are boldly going in for who they want, thus they put aside the ‘archaic’ adage and sometimes even propose to the men themselves.

There are several women across the globe these days who are either married or engaged to men they are far older than. The recent to join them was Meghan Markle who got married to Prince Harry, whom she’s three years older than. Besides, age they say is just a number.

There are a few female celebrities who are older than their spouses but who have also defied all odd and are living happily in Ghana.

We bring to you four of them today,

1. Medikal and Vanessa Deborah

It is even no news that Deborah Vanessa is way older than her AMG rapper boyfriend, Medikal. But the age difference is what became a debate some time ago.

Some said, Deborah is 10 years older than the guy whiles Derby herself came out to debunk such claims. Instead she  stated she is only 8 years older than Medikal.

Records have it that Deborah was born on August 25, 1984, thus age 34. Medikal was born on the 5th of April, 1992, making him 26 years. So yes, Sis Derby is 8 years older than his sweetheart, Medikal.

2. Captain Planet 4×4 and Uche Ofodile

The leader of the music trio, 4X4 Captain Planet born Jeff Sylvanus Dodji got married to his lovely Nigerian wife, Uche Ofodile. That was four years ago in a low key ceremony in the Accra.

Uche was a former Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Ghana. She is currently the CEO of MTN Liberia.

However, the “obi agye wo girl” hitmaker  during an interview with Doreen Andoh on Cosmopolitan Mix on Joy FM confirmed rumors that his wife is older him.

According to him, his wife is older than him and that doesn’t change anything or the love they share together.

3. Nana Ama McBrown and Maxwell Mensah

These two have also made lots of headlines with the gap between their ages.  They got married in 2016 in a very private ceremony.

But it seems the media had always giving Nana Ama a higher age than she is, something she cleared out in a recent interview.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Felix Adomako Mensah on the ‘Celebrity ride with Zionfelix”, the actress revealed that the media had always given her a ‘higher’ age than she was in reality.

“I am 40 years now…I am very proud of my age because I still look good because I take care of myself and it is so graceful to know that you are growing fresh every day,” she said.

Meanwhile, records have it that Maxwell Mensah was born on the 3rd of August,1983. So Maxwell is 35 years old.

This means that Nana Ama is 5 years older than her husband.

4. Van Vicker and Adjoa Vicker

Prolific actor, VanVicker has been married to his wife, Adjoa for over 13 years now. Adjoa may not be a celeb by profession but she’s one by marriage. Van Vicker was born on the August 1st, 1977. That is, he is 41 years old.

Meanwhile, his wife, Adjoa Vicker was born on the 24th of January,1977 , making her also a 41-year-old woman. But, check the months, Adjoa is 7 months older than Van. Do you get it?

The above-mentioned celebrities and their couples or partners have defied the odds to stick together.Van, for instance, has been with his wife for over 22 years but has been married for 13 years.

We believe that with time, the list will continue to grow with time as as age, they say really has nothing to do with love.
