I Don’t Regret Leaving Teaching Job – Kurl Songx

Upcoming musician, Kurl Songx disclosed that he does not regret leaving the teaching field to pursue music. Furthermore, this was because it is his passion.

He made these statements in an interview with NEWS-ONE. Moreover, he stated that he was a professional teacher at the Brainy World International School at Kokomlemle in Accra for about two years.

However, he had to move on because he was struggling to survive at the time.

Kurl Songx about leaving teaching to pursue music

“It all started in 2016 when I was a teacher. I woke up one morning and decided to search for a different job. I was struggling here in Accra and that time I was teaching.

My salary was GH¢90 so I went to Takoradi to search for a different job. On my way back home, I met this young man on the bus who watched me years ago on Vodafone Icons reality show. He asked me what happened to my music career. I was like I am focusing on how to survive and he said no I have great talent and should continue pushing.

He convinced me and told me about MTN Hitmaker. Coincidentally, they were having an audition for MTN Hitmaker that day. So we quickly went to the venue and I auditioned and by God’s grace I qualified.”

Currently, he is on Kaywa’s Highly Spiritual Music label.

“Back in the days I had to struggle to get into studio to record but now we have a studio at our disposal because I am signed to Highly Spiritual and we don’t have to hustle anymore.”

Kurl Songs discovered his drive for singing at age 16 and used to follow his friends who do music. However, he never knew he could become a musician since becoming a pilot was his major dream.

According to Kurl Songx, “I never abandoned teaching. It was just that I was passionate about music. I love the kids; that was why I was teaching.”

3 Signs That You And Your Partner Are Sexually Compatible

The one truth that surprisingly not a lot of people know about sex is that it has a tendency to be incredibly weird, awkward, and embarrassing at first. It can take quite a while to build good sexual chemistry and compatibility with another person. For some couples, sexual compatibility and comfort is a downright impossibility. But then again, sex is always going to be a fun experience regardless of whether it’s awkward or not. So that’s why a lot of people are willing to go through all of the initial awkwardness and embarrassment that comes with sexual introductions. But there is no taking away from the fact that couples can build on sexual chemistry; and this is a necessary rite of passage for all couples who want to find success in the long-term.

At the foundation of it all, there always has to be the establishment of trust between both people. Sex is probably one of the most emotionally compromising and vulnerable social experiences that human beings could ever go through with another person. That’s why it takes a lot of trust for two people to really get through a sexual experience with one another. You have to be able to trust one another with your bodies, and if you’re in a serious relationship, with the emotional implications that sex can bring along.

Next, you have to be able to talk about your boundaries and expectations. You might want to discuss if your pleasures of the skin are merely manifestations of your physical lust, or if there are is any emotional baggage involved there. You might want to talk about what you need from each other in the physical sense as far as pleasures are concerned. There are plenty of things that you need to hash out with one another if you really want your sexual chemistry to get to a point of comfort and stability. But along with those desires, you also need to establish boundaries and rules these rules can be emotional and physical in nature.

Ultimately, if you keep on living a healthy and active sex life, you are both going to get to a point of sexual comfort and compatibility with one another that is worth emulating. People are kidding themselves if they really think that sex doesn’t play a big role in modern relationships. The very fact that you made it a point to build a strong sexual connection with one another is proof of just how hard you’re willing to work to ensure the success of this relationship. It shows that you are always trying your best to make your love grow and manifest itself throughout various aspects of your relationship. And that’s always a good sign.

But how do you know if you and your partner have really reached a point of healthy sexual comfort with one another? Well, there are a few signs that you can choose to keep an eye out for. If you and your partner are guilty of the things that are going to be listed on here, then it means that you are both sexually compatible with one another.

1. You both feel like you could both be freely open and honest about your sexual fantasies that you may have for one another

You both feel like you could freely discuss even your wildest sexual fantasies with one another. Your sexual comfort and chemistry has reached a point wherein you are both willing to try out new things just to make the other happy; and also to add more spice and excitement to the experience. You can both make requests to try out some new positions or some new techniques just to mix things up a little bit.

2. You both feel like you can both openly discuss sex whenever you want without any awkwardness or shyness at all

The talk of sex is always awkward for a lot of people at first. But with you, you’re way past the point of awkwardness. You are at a place of comfort with one another. You are completely sexual compatible with each other and you both know it. Whenever you get into the bedroom, sparks start flying and no one can stop it.

3. You really don’t consider it a big deal to be naked around one another even during nonsexual contexts.

The very fact that you have very active sex lives should mean that it’s totally okay for you to be seeing each other in the nude even during nonsexual settings. You’ve seen each other’s private parts a lot of times already and you don’t really mind just lounging around the house or the apartment wearing absolutely nothing at all. You’ve both seen plenty of each other and you are no longer surprised with each other’s bodies. Whether you are just sitting down on the couch or laying on the bed without clothes on just talking to one another, or you’re taking a bath together, it’s all perfectly normal for the both of you.

“Their dressing and choice of words are even disgraceful to say the least”

Fame Comes With A Lot Of Pressure – KiDi

For some who are not there, they will do anything to become famous. But for those who are there, being famous is a herculean task.

KiDi of ‘Odo’ fame, surely says so as well. He has joined a host of personalities and celebrities who have said fame is not an easy thing.

You suffer to get it and whiles in it too, it’s all pressure form every angle. Of course, as our old folks say, a child belongs to the mother only in the stomach, once born, the society owns him/her.

There’s also the fact that, once famous, you have to deal with the invasion of privacy and scrutiny from people.

Not forgotten that the media also has its eagle eyes on each of your movements and will not hesitate to make you their headline with the least missed step.

The Lynx Entertainment artiste, in a chat with Showbiz on Tuesday revealed that being famous has been tough for him.

“It’s been tough, it is not a walk in the park, everybody wants you to give them attention.

It’s a lot of pressure, everybody demands the right amount of attention,” he said.

That notwithstanding, KiDi, said he is very grateful to his fans for being there for him.

“Without them there is no me, I am very very grateful to them for everything they do for me, listening to my songs and watching my videos, I am really grateful to them,” he said.

He was asked what the magic was that did the trick for him after he emerged winner of music reality show, MTN Hitmakers.

“After Hitmaker I was still in school, I had to finish school and once I was done with it, everything started to fall in place and here we are,” he recalled.

He also disagreed with the perception of many that, the spotlight seems to be on his label mate, Kumi Eugene. Meanwhile, they are three artistes on the Lynx Entertainment record label; Kidi, Kuami Eugene and MzVee.

According to him,“There is nothing like one person getting attention, everybody has their plan and the team has time for everybody.”

He also hinted of his yet-to-be-released song, which he described as ‘deadly’.

“My next song is deadly, I am very excited about it and I can’t wait. I also have a lot of collaborations coming up so my fans should watch out for them,” he said.

About KiDi

KiDi, born Dennis Nana Dwamena is a fast rising hiplife artiste in Ghana. He rose to fame when he won the popular TV show, MTN Hitmakers season IV in 2015.

He has since thrilled Ghanaians with sweet melodious hit songs including Odo, Say You Love Me, among others.

The 24-year-old recently released another hit single dubbed ‘Adiepena’ which is already doing well on the music scene.

KiDi won the Highlife Song of the Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Produce Songs That Can Last A Lifetime – Kaywa Tells Music Producers

Renowned sound engineer, David Kojo Kyei, best known as Kaywa has advised music producers to produce songs that can last a lifetime.

According to Kaywa, he believes that for a song to be classified as a hit song, the it has to stand the test of time. And one of them is quality not quantity.

He further cited Bob Marley’s songs which are still enjoying massive airplay across the globe even after 37-years of his death.

“We are playing Bob Marley’s songs today because it is a hit song, but it still has quality. It was recorded in the 60’s, today we’re playing it,” he noted.

The celebrated music producer, in an interview with SVTV AFRICA said he believes what makes a song a hit song is the longevity of the song. He also revealed that for this reason, he gets scared whenever he releases a song and it hits immediately.

“I believe in longevity, and that’s why when i release a song and it hits immediately i’m scared. My songs don’t hit immediately, it takes time to build up. And for six, seven, eight years, they’re still in the market,”  he stated.

He therefore advised musicians and music producers to move away from focusing on making hit songs that ends up fading withing a couple of weeks. Instead, he opined that they should focus on doing classic and quality songs that can last a lifetime.

He also advised producers to get qualified people to teach them the core things about the profession.

Old Musicians Not Stopping Younger Ones; The Door Is Open – Rex Omar

Veteran musician, Rex Omar says nobody is not preventing the new generation from making strides in the music industry. This is because there is enough room to accommodate both new and old artistes.

He made these statements to Natalia Andoh on Touch of Class on Class 91.3FM. Furthermore, he advised young artistes to stop asking the older ones to quit for them to take over.

Moreover, he stated that it surprises him anytime he hears that Ghanaian musicians above 40 years should sit back. Also, they should leave the industry to the younger ones.

Rex Omar on co-existing with younger musicians

“Something is happening in this country and I’m surprised. It’s like the new generation thinks that they own something, as soon as you grow, forty years, they say leave it for us. That kind of mentality must stop. Because of that most of them are not ready to learn, they are not ready to listen to anything”.

Also, he said that most of the young artistes say: “This is our time, this is our generation”.

However, he believes people and musicians should always have a reference point. This is because elsewhere, musicians perform up to 80 years.

“Currently, our own legend Ebo Taylor, 80 years, is still touring around the globe selling Ghanaian music, highlife, but we’ve some current 25-, 26-year-old musicians in this country thinking this is their time, so, everybody should stop for them to continue.”

Moreover, in his opinion, music is an artistic work which has nothing to do with age,

“it’s not like a competition, like football or boxing, artistic work is an idea of creativity. If you’re powerful enough, let your creativity show, but don’t say: ‘It’s our time, why don’t you stop and give opportunity to the new generation,’ nobody is stopping any new generation, the doors are open for the new generation to walk in, so your power to walk in and to succeed depends on the power of your creativity”.

Rex Omar believes

“creativity comes in a raw form but you have to continue to learn, you have to continue to nurture your own creativity to make it mature. With artistic work, the more you grow in it, the more it becomes mature.”

Akrobeto Thinks Kumawood Is Damaged Beyond Repairs

Kumawood actor, Akwasi Boadi, known as Akrobeto speaks about the Kumawood industry.

Furthermore, he stated that that no amount of prayers from‘Angel’ Bishop Daniel Obinim can save the dying Kumawood movie industry.

Moreover, he said the Creative Arts Ministry and industry players have to adapt to the modern day advances in technology. Otherwise, the movie industry will continue to fall behind time.

Also, his statements stem from the fact that some movie producers visited Bishop Obinim in Kumasi. Their aim was to seek help to revive the decline in the patronage of local movies.

He insisted that reviving the movie industry is about emulating the western culture and not seeking favors from pastors.

Meanwhile, Akrobeto made these statements on Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall.

“If the work has declined, we have to be creative and adapt to the new trend. CDs are dead now pen drives are on top. The system is changing so we have to change. Spirits can’t affect the movie industry. Prayers can’t save us. You can go to Obinim it doesn’t matter.

We have to plan something to move our industry forward. We don’t have the same mind. We have to make sure to move things in its better form. It’s not about prayers.”

I Don’t Need Brother Sammy To Be Popular – Patience Nyarko

Gospel Musician, Patience Nyarko talks about Brother Sammy. Furthermore, she states that she has made it. Therefore, she does not need Brother Sammy to make her or her songs popular.

Patience Nyarko made these statements about Bro Sammy in an interview on Abusua FM.

“Patience Nyarko is not an artiste who needs somebody to push my song. My first album was a hit, it got me three nominations at the VGMA, and the second album also did well, therefore I’m not a new artiste who needs somebody”.

Also, she noted that collaborating with an artiste surrounded with controversies does not guarantee her music will be a success.

“That thing doesn’t work for me, because I know somebody who did a song with Shatta Wale and was never a hit”.

However, she stated that at least there is some kind of good relationship among gospel musicians in Ghana and nothing else.

“This will let the world know there is some kind of brotherliness among gospel musicians. Therefore, he can freely invite me when he needs me so as I can do the same. But not that he is coming to promote my song.”

Furthermore, she said her new single is very popular. Also, it is the toast of many including prominent individuals including former President Kufuor and CEO of Despite Group of Companies.

Anas’ Life Is In Danger Due To Kennedy Agyapong — Ghana Journalists Association

The Ghana Journalists Association talks about protection for Anas.

Ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas received numerous death threats in the past few days. Therefore, the GJA asserts that he needs police protection.

Furthermore, according to the body, Anas’ work has put not only his life in danger. Also, the lives of others are in danger due to the circulation of pictures supposed to be of him.

Moreover, this comes after MP Kennedy Agyapong threatened to expose him. He tagged the journalist as corrupt and a crook.

Therefore, the GJA condemned the efforts to put Anas’ life in danger. Also, they said contrary to speculation, the work he does completely follows their code of ethics.

Full statement from the GJA about Anas’ protection

Anas Aremeyaw Anas Needs Police Protection Against Death Threats

It has come to the attention of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) that internationally-acclaimed investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has received many death threats following his latest investigative piece on the game of football in Ghana, which is scheduled to be premiered in Accra on Wednesday, June 6 and Thursday June 7, 2018. According to sources close to the ace investigative journalist, apart from receiving messages containing threats of death, some unidentified persons have been tracking his office and other locations ostensibly to harm him.

Several pictorial images are online, television and on social media. These images, which are not the real identity of Anas, tend to put the lives of other persons at risk. This must stop forthwith.

The GJA finds these developments extremely disturbing and highly unfortunate. We therefore, urge the Ghana Police Service, Bureau of National Investigations and other security agencies to, as a matter of urgency, and in the utmost national interest, provide a 24-hour protection for Anas and all his interests, including his family and properties. The security agencies should not allow aggrieved and disgruntled individuals to endanger the life of this patriotic citizen of Ghana, who, at a very young age, has rendered very invaluable services to the nation.

More of the statement

We appreciate the fact that investigative pieces of this nature always arouse passion, emotions, anger and even hatred. However, regardless of one’s feelings, whether good or ill, under no circumstances must one deviate from the rule of law to tread on the path of impunity and engage in an assassination mission. Instead, one must resort to the law courts to seek redress to anything one finds untoward in such matters.

Whatever be the case, Chapter 13 of the GJA Code of Ethics fully justifies the means by which Anas conducts his investigative works on the ground of national interest.

The GJA wishes to remind the nation of Ghana’s enviable first position on the World Press Freedom Index 2018 and the enormous economic benefits it holds for the nation. This achievement was not procured on a silver platter. It was earned through our collective resolve to promote press freedom in the country. This is under Chapter 12 of the 1992 Constitution. In that same spirit of unity of purpose,

we must collectively resist acts, much less death threats on journalists that have the tendency to undermine our press freedom status and collective good.

Even before the premiering of the undercover expose, Anas’ investigative piece has already generated international interest. And so it is important for us to conduct our affairs in a manner that would bring dignity, not disgrace, to Ghana. The whole world is watching us.
